Considering shafting Daisy all together. To be honest I never considered him a worthy mid selection as I always thought he would be a forward. But when he wasn't a forward I felt like I had to have him anyway.
I can just see him being an awkward one to offload. In my mind theres almost no chance he will average enough to become a keeper and as a cash cow I think it will be a slow burn that is hard to work out when to sell and when to keep.
I had Mundy last year and he provided the same headache all season

With all due respect..Mundy was selected as a possible ''keeper''..never as an under priced cash generating stepping stone. imo can't compare the two.

Daisy could be compared to Moloney of last year.

After much fiddling around i have found,
Daisy at M4 is possible depending on the rest of your team structure.

normally I would say this is too weak, but with the lack of defender options and now forwards, im seriously thinking of having him m4. Soo many good mid options and you can afford to go weak in the mids if you have absolute fire power elsewhere.

normally this would be giving up for the overall, but if it will work any year it will be this one.

I'm currently running with this same set up and am enjoying the discussion. I'm particularly curious about the going for overall part. It could be a slow burn but I think Thomas has proven that he can knock out some big scores. I'm hoping he starts acting like a premium from Round 1, or else blokes are right, you'll be behind the 8 ball from the start. I think what really matters here is getting your rookies right so you can upgrade that little bit quicker..

ATM I have Daisy at M4, allowing me to have Suckling at D6. At this stage I could wait until the second half of round one, and if there are three (decent) back rookies available I'll downgrade Hibberd (or probably someone else now) to a D8 and upgrade Tyson to Rockliff.
IMO, Tyson + Hibberd > Rockliff + horrible rookie.

May lose 10 points a week as people have said early on, however ending up with a rookie that makes you solid money vs someone who gets dropped/subbed/averages 50 is useless and costs you and extra trade anyway, so you should be able to make the points up?

I am still going the no Daisy option... :-\

Hahahaha.

Actually pick him though, he is crazy good value. Will be the best pick in terms of value other than Beamsy and possibly Suckers.

Nah mate...my mid pod strategy is based on not having him.. Have Suckers and Beames though.. 8)

Daisy at m4 ? No problem. I notice ppl are saying slow burn, you'll drop back, etc. but you just have to adjust your trade strategy. Ull have to go hard at mid upgrades, probably trading slightly early to keep up but it has its advantages.
If daisy recaptures his 110 avg form, ull be set.
Ull avoid donuts or wasted trades with dicey fwd and def rookies and have a seriously good little revenue stream from your additional mid rookies.
Every year a premo mid has an issue early (selwood/priddis concussion, wink, wink) so ull be in a good spot to pounce early on them too. Id suggest considering another midpricer (mitchell?) if you can squeeze them just to get a few extra points.

Tbh, it doesn't really matter how Daisy performs, eg if he regains his 110 form... cus everyone will have that anyway, whether its at M4 or M5. It just depends on how you can better spend the money, and if your M8 can outperform another's D6(/F6) by more then the points you'll lose having an extra premium defender(/forward) instead of a premium MID. (Say, 95 vs 115?)

IMO, yes it should.... sure your MID rookie might'n score 20 extra points than a back rookie, however you should have an extra 100k to say, upgrade a Caddy to a Pav?

But having 6 MID rookies with solid JS is the question, because some will inevitably get dropped, subbed etc... Trying to flip 6 heads in a row is twice as difficult as flipping 5!

Judd Magic

Way too risky going with Thomas at M4 and 6 rookies.

You'll lose too many points to others with a 5 premo midfield IMO as that's where most of your points come from.  8)
