Have heard from a reliable source the other day, that Alexis Georgiou will be upgraded to the senior list prior to round 1. Some good news in the defence side of things. Very handy young player, great composure and skills out of defence. News out of Melbourne is that Paul Roos has likened to his game. Very similar to player Dean Terlich

Bill Manspeaker

hope he can score like Terlich!

great news. Looks like we might be able to get away with McDonald, Langford and Georgiou without having to spend too much

Think 2 rookies on field down back will work. I think I will do it.

Tippett Langdon Geourgiou LMcDonald Clurey and Langford all seem like good options.

Need them to be named round 1 first though, and not vested ;)

Remember both Tippett and georgio need to be upgraded.  Great to see some options arising but also bear in mind we can not take a lot away from Preseason cup though with various senior players resting.

So we just note and see if these players make the cut for round 1. Hope they do for those like myslef running a 2 rookie on field strategy.

Good news, but problem is we wont know the teams/subs for Langford, Georgiou, until the rest have already played. but if georgiou gets named and he plays another decent nab surely we must pick him.

I think you'll find Georgiou will line up round 1

Hopefully this does happen. The good thing about Georgiou is that with his role in the side he is not a green vest candidate either.

Thanks for the hot tip mate  ;)

It seems, as expected, that enough options have presented themselves. Phew! No need to resort to suckling at D6 now.

;) no worries! Oh btw, Fuller won't be there round 1.
But that was already a bit obvious!
Will be the perfect downgrade target come round 8 or thereabouts

But is his JS in question when Garland returns, if so does anyone know when garland is due back?

Not sure when garland is due back, but if Georgiou plays similar standard of footy that I've watched him play at sanfl level, his JS will be very good and garland might find himself out of favour

I hope I'm wrong, but as a dees supporter who has been following pre-season closely I'm concerned that he wont play enough games early enough. However if named and starting round 1, it's very tempting. Just don't want him sitting there in my team all season without a decent rise like many rookie defenders have in the past.
