Expensive and a NicNait selected round one will be a NicNait selected in my team in round one

The price of Gold is dropping.

Ruckmen with no preseason are a minefield, particularly one's with OP. I think I'll just stick with 2 mid pricers.

NicNat came back in last year after having no pre season and missing the opening 6 rounds and scored:

40 (sub)
102
142
148
104
109
114

Then his scores dropped to 70's for the next 4 before his season was ended. He doesnt need fitness, he's a freak. He just needs to play. They wont play him if he's not okay which is why ill trust that he is if he's named round 1 and lock him in.

Dayze

well said Quin.
Giving him the boot has had me losing sleep.
If he is named round one and had some form of hitout ill go in with him.

Normal supercoach preseason rules don't apply to nic nat

Ricochet

Its not as though he hasn't done a preseason though. He has been running since November.
Its just he hasn't been training with the main group to avoid change of direction and reactive movements, as a precautionary because it could cause his groins to flair up. Now he has been training with the main group for close to a month (off the top of my head). His fitness definitely won't be the issue

Bully

We all know he's a freak but OP just doesn't disappear over night, he could be rested or subbed at any stage. It's risky business particularly given the fragile bench that everyone will be carrying.

i just switch between cox and nic nat now for this very reason ...

Will like to see how hes travelling first. Should still score alright but would just like to know that the op isn't flaring up after a few full on matches. Also will Simpson start giving him the red vest as extra management if the games are in hand. Cox is looking in terrific shape and should easily see out the 4th quarters. Wait and see approach for me but hoping he comes out firing on all 8 cyclinders. Most likely my first upgrade target.

Agree, I would imagine they would give him a rest at the first sign of any niggle, sure he may average the most, but I just don't see him playing 22 games... Looking back at Quinny's post, and what happened after those 6 rounds?

I would honestly fork out the extra 60k and get Cox as my R1 (if I wanted a premium, however now considering a mid-priced combo). You know you'll get a 105 ave. return and 20-22 games, vs a 115 * 16 games.

Sabretooth Tigers

 :(
Would love to have Nicnat. Worried about Rds.22 and 23 though. The Eagles play Melb at home then the Suns away and if there is even a semblance of thought on player management he could be rested up for the finals. Definitely worth the risk but is a very important "wait and see." Cheers.     :-\

Haha, realize that Sabre. Just saying ya a wise man. Dont worry i'm also backing the tigers in for my GF quinella bet.
Hope we both rip the season apart 8)

Danzac

I'm suspicious of this non-playing to be honest.
West Coast could easily "manage" Nic into fitness slowly with their easy start to the season (WB/MELB/STK), and have him right for GEEL in round 4.
I've given Nic the flick for HMac, and brought in Hale at F5 as cover

quinny88

People talking about West Coast and "easy games" and "managing players" :o
They finished 13th last season, they are in no position to be worrying about anything except winning at all costs.
I expect them to bounce back but lets not get ahead of ourselves.
