Just when I had one line set. Hibberd injured, didn't see it but general consensus says about a month out.

Looking for a replacement.

Already have Mitchell. McVeigh. ......... Hanley. Suckling. Rookie. (Rookie. Rookie.)

Simpson or Enright..even Taylor if your feeling different!

Yeah Simpson for me as well, or Thompson as more of a POD if you can afford him

Simpson.

I am seriously considering holding off getting McVeigh until a bit later.

Enright is a good chance of being top 8 defenders yet again and will not drop a lot.

McVeigh is more likely to drop and so the money saved on McVeigh to Enright (Kade Simpson is your man by the way) can be spent elsewhere with glee.

So Mitchell, Simpson, Hanley, Enright, Suckling and probably McDonald, Cutler and Georgiou (or whoever gets games).

Like that for a compact value for money reliable and cash generating backline?

Thompson describes @M_Hibberd1's injury as a minor strain - a "19-dayer, ready for Round 1." #NABChallenge

So round 3 then

I already had Kade...the SC gods are forcing my hand towards P.Hanley.

Hurn for a player who should increase in value and let you suss out the rest of the field - probably not a keeper option though...

Boris. Just as consistent as Hibberd, ideal replacement, but I want both in my team! Reckon Hib will recover and be right for rd 1

Why wouldn't he be a keeper? Take out his injury game last year (where he scored 8 ) and his average becomes about 95. That should put him in the top 10 defenders.

Key word: Probably. Add in the fact that Bartel, Walker, McVeigh, Mitchell, Simpson and Hodge were all mids/fwds last year rather than defenders, and the only big names lost are Gibbs and Goddard. There's still the likes of Hanley, Heater, SDT, Cannon, Ibbo, Enright, Taylor, Birchall, Hibberd, Bob Murphy, even some like Eski who could all potentially out do Hurn. It's a very congested top end, a lot could score around the same in that bracket. Hurn might make top 10. But I'd almost guarantee he won't make top 6. It all comes down to how it pans out.

If its that congested at the top end Hurn could still be a keeper as a 6-10th placed defender though. As there would only be a couple of points in in. I can see Hurn pushing close to 100
