UPDATED TEAM!

D: McVeigh, Mitchell, Hodge, Enright, Suckling, McDonald (Langford, Tippett)
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, Beams, Thomas, Tyson, Michie, Polec, Ellis (Dunstan, Crouch)
R: Natanui, Sandilands (Derickx, Currie)
F: Dangerfield, Martin, Franklin, Pavlich, Rohan, McDonough (Kersten, Kennedy-Harris)
$176k in the bank

WHERE DO I SPEND MY MONEY??

Anthonyyyy

I see where you are coming from with your hawkers back in the defence but just watch out as 5 out of your 8 players all have a round 9 bye so just be wary. I don't mind the 4 mid rookies but I am not gain enough for it but Michie and Tyson may be fighting for the same spot so it may be one or the other. You are really weak in the rucks but im sure you have done that for a reason. Your forward line is very strong so not much to work on there.

rate my team : http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,90207.0.html

Not too worried about Round 9 Bye as a lot of upgrades will make way during this time. Blokes like Enright, Bartel and Walker will be on my radar..

I just feel like I'm too heavy on the mid pricers just because I'm not game enough to pick premiums up either end of the ground.. Feel like I'm going to have to downgrade one of Suckling, Shaw or Tomahawk to upgrade another

Anthonyyyy

I don't mind some mid prices but I see where you are coming from its really up to if you check out my team youll see a team with more guns and rookies rather than mid prices both have pros and cons http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,90207.0.html

johnnytheboy1

Not a bad team there a few risks but may be worth taking.
Def
6/5/10
Mid 7/10
Rucks 5/10
Fwds 8/10

Give this  team an 7/10
,

Hippo

Its the big dopey prick Hawkins, could not stand watching him and having to cheer him on ;)

I have the exact same mid setup except 2 dif premiums

The same mid ruck setup

Also have one extra mid pricer in the backs rather than the 3rd premium you have BUT i have an extra Prem in the fwds with no rookies starting

As you can see a very very similar structure to what i have so i think your team is fine!! i have fought with myself with having 4 starting rookies in the mids but thats what the rookies are telling us.... at the end of the day its them that dictate my team structure.

This is the yr to go mid pricer and roll the dice... in the yrs i have been looking at teams posted i have never seen so much same sameness than now!!!!

Hippo, question about your mids.. Have you got Pendles and Gaz or are you running with cheaper premiums?
I'm looking at some teams and they seem to have underpriced premiums such as Cotchin or JPK and that extra $100k from say a Pendles can come in handy

ablett, Watson, cotchin, and of course the must have beams, hurts me not to have pendles and it's the first time but as you say the extra 110k makes a world of dif in other areas

Can I nominate hippo for some kind of award?

That line about Hawkins is pure gold. Well done son.

Now you felsty,

After teams are selected for round 1, a few really cheap rookies will present themselves. Then you can upgrade by getting off a couple if expensive cheapies ( you know what I mean).

Too many Hawks doesn't make sense. A big win and they'll not see much of the ball. A loss and they'll all be scored down. Langford yet to be a certain starter.

I think Thomas is a must - same deal as Suckling.

Rucks - maybe, but can you get some money and put NicNait or someone similar there and just look at it - ahhhh that is better.

McVeigh might be overs to start?

Hawkins can be made into a rookie and then you won't have to cheer him on.

Good team though.

felsty

Have done Hawkins > Rohan and Shaw > Walker
Could go Rockliff > Thomas and Hickey > NicNat
Will NicNat be right for Round 1 though?

felsty

Hallelujah! Praise The Lord.. Have actually found a team I can be happy with! Very cookie cutter but gives me a base to work with..

D: Walker, McVeigh, Mitchell, Hodge, Suckling, McDonald (Tippett, Langford)
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, Beams, Thomas, Tyson, Michie, Polec, Ellis (Dunstan, Crouch)
R: Natanui, Sandilands (Derickx, Currie)
F: Dangerfield, Martin, Franklin, Parker, Rohan, Kennedy-Harris (Kersten, McDonough)

$76.6k remaining... Now what to do with this money...

Doggoneit

looking good now

keep the cash handy as you may need to upgrade your rookies depending on who gets a gig rd1

and always comes in handy for the  Rd 3 corrective trades

PS - I'm not rapt in your 5 rd 9  byes in defence

RaisyDaisy

Coming along nicely felsty, but I would downgrade Walker to a 500k def

That would leave you with about 130k, which you could simply bank for future trades, or even upgrade NicNat to Goldy to lock in a set and forget ruck without an injury shadow hanging over him

Not a bad thought - and Enright would fit the bill nicely
