This Aaron Sandilands guy looks pretty tall.  Could be a good pick up in SC.

Preseason form has a big say in who I pick, and I'm not talking about NAB games, I'm talking about who is fit and who hasn't missed a session all preseason, and they say Sandi hasn't missed a beat, which would be the first time in years

The consensus here is that he will break soon and we just need him to get us through to the byes and make money - based on his preseason conditioning I am sure I am in the minority who think he can go all season, perhaps miss just 1 or 2 games

I seriously think he could be R1, but his price, and the fact everyone cheaper are spuds means R2 is the biggest lock of 2014 (Perhaps second biggest lock behind Beams  ;) )

I have merged three ruck general threads into one.  Please try not to start additional threads when all comments apply to rucks in general hence threads merged.

I've met taller guys - can't remember when.

Anyone contemplating starting Sandi at R1 and R2?

GCSkiwi

Just as a point of interest, it seems the supercoach world in general can't decide on rucks either, other than Sandi - here's the top ten with ownership percentage (to nearest .5%):

Sandi 48%
Thurlow 25%
Currie 21.5%
Grundy 20%
Nankervis 14%
Wood 12%
Daw 12%
Longer 11.5%
HMac 11%
Derickx 9.5%

Where are all the other people FF have tossed up as options??

McEvoy 9%
NicNat 8.5%
Dixon 7.5%
Hickey 6.5%
Mummy 6%
Lobbe 6%
Goldy 5.5%
Minson 5.5%
Ryder 4.5%
Hale 4%
Cox 4%
Berger 3%
Pyke 3%
Jacobs 3%

There are 3% who want Jacobs?  :o :o

GCSkiwi

If it makes you feel better doc I count 6 rookies (J.Holmes, P.Mitchell, T. Downie, B.Brown, M.Apeness, A.Smith) who will almost certainly not get any game time that have higher %ages than Jacobs ;)

The simplist way to look at rucks is to have have Sandi an. Whoever you think will be the number one ruck, whether it be Goldy, Cox Mumford etc. Blokes like Lobbe shouldn't even come into calculation cause there is no way they will be no one ruck in super coach by the end of the year.

Interesting just did a quick calc based on your figures and assuming everyone that has Sandi has him as ruck 2 with the prem as ruck 1. (McEvoy, Nat, Mummy, Goldy, Minson, Cox and Berger) they add up to 42%.  So can assume that most are going premo + Sandi. Difference being choice of ruck premo.

Interesting thought Ringo. Also though wouldn't that also mean there's 58% of teams left, which have not got any of McEvoy, NicNat, Mummy, Goldy, Minson, Cox, Berger. If we include Lobbe thats the 48% of teams who have Sandi also, so assuming no-one has gone with 2 premos in the ruck there's still over half of teams without any of the players I consider to be viable ruck choices...

Who the heck are they running in their rucks? Hickey + HMac? :P

Or Sandi and a ruck who you don't think will be a keeper but is a stepping stone to a premium ruck later in the season.

For me it's Nic Nat if he plays round 1. If not then I will be picking Hickey.

Lobbe doesn't have to be the No 1 ruck. Just average well and play 20+ which I think he will.
At his price he is a bargain and I expect him to be a keeper who averages 100+. He'll score big some weeks, low others but average well.
He'll be amongst the top 5 IMO.
