Ok i need the community to please select 2 out of the 3 ruckmen i am considering for a set & forget strategy.
Please take into account That i am not looking for the largest possible scorers, but 2 Premo rucks who have durability (will play 20-22 games/low chance of injury) and will hopefully average around the 100 mark.

Feel free to offer up other "set and forget" Ruck combinations you like.

Thank you all kindly  :)

Sorry mate but if your criteria are play 20-22 games and average around 100 the answer has to be none of the above...

Jacobs - Never again. Easily the worst option. Don't even consider him. Go so far as to remove him from the poll. Just NO.

McEvoy and Lobbe I think could be set and forget in terms of game time, I would expect them both to play full seasons but can't see them averaging 100. Others will disagree. They may get close but I would think more like 90-95. If you're happy with that, go for it. I honestly don't think there are 2 set and forget ruckmen out there this year, there is one, Dean Cox. Not always the highest scorer but he rips out good numbers, plays full seasons and is usually in the top 5 rucks. Looking at any of the other rucks out there they are so volatile year to year, he's the one that is consistent. If you can afford it, Lobbe+Cox would be a pretty comfortable set up I would have thought. Of the three you listed Lobbe would be the best one I think.

Not so much with this. Personally think top 4 rucks will be NicNat, Goldy, Minson, Leuenberger. Cox will probably come in at number 5. So if going for a set and forget strategy, gotta have 2 of these 5 guys.

He did specify not necessarily highest scoring though - Where were those 4 last year, then the year before, then the year before that... Minson and Goldy top last year, but were about 9th and 10th the year before. Leuey was what, 5th last year? But the year before waaay down the bottom from injury. NicNat gave us all a ride last year, but the year before was the top ruckman on average points... in the last 5 years I'm pretty sure Cox is the only one who hasn't dropped out of the top 5. Durability + scoring power = set and forget. Goldy/Minson/Leuey = hope they can keep it up, NicNat = hope he can return to form. I think you're top 5 is likely right, but who knows - Groin issues could hamper NicNat, no Number 1 and 2 ruckmen in the last few years have backed up repeat performances which calls MinniGold into question, and Leuey who knows? Cox is the only one I would the house on to make top 5.

For a consistent set and forget you really couldnt go past a cox/big boy or berger/big boy combo

All three are the most likely to play the most games and score well, low risk low reward vs the guys who are going to bank on Sandi/Hmac/Longer who could score similar at a much reduced cost.

Ricochet

If set and forget and are willing to spend the coin I think Goldy and Luey is the way to go imo.
Minson is another obvious choice but I think he may actually drop off a bit this year

Lobbe all the way.
Rucks are easy this year. Mine have been Lobbe and Sandi for months and months.

Really don't get why Lobbe is such a lock...

Neither. I think Ricochet mentioned in another thread that Lobbe only scored well against inexperienced rucks, and struggled against the better guys. No way he's going to average 95+ if that trend continues.

My thoughts have been posted about Lobbe several times since November last year. IMO he'll average in excess of 100pts and will be a keeper. There was plenty of hype about him about a month or so ago but that seems to have dried up somewhat. I don't care what others think my mind is made up on him and he'll stay if he scores well and be traded if he doesn't.

I know Jacobs burnt a lot of people last yeah but his pre season has been faultless, last year it was interrupted and he wasn't anywhere near as fit as he is this year. Im backing the big Sauce in!
