Richmond ruckman Ivan Maric will miss the start of the 2014 season after undergoing surgery on an injured ankle today.

Maric is expected to miss the next 6-8 weeks after having bone spurs removed, with surgery the preferred option for the Club's medical staff.

It's good to get that done now, and start moving into his rehab phase, and hopefully get him back on track soon," said Richmond's Elite Performance Manager, Peter Burge.

Not good but would rather they get it sorted now rather than later. Suddenly getting Hampson was a very good move

So it's happened.

Hammer to ruck, Griffo to provide relief.

Looking forward to this!  8)

This.

Not ideal but I don't think it'll affect us a lot. Hampson is capable enough, plus Griffiths and Vickery to pinch hit.
At least it'll give Hampson a chance to prove a 2nd round pick wasn't overs.

This really is Hammer's big chance to put all the doubters in their place, I'm reaaaaally hoping he can make a good fist of it.
