With the announcement that the Federal Government is not now contributing to this development it is back to the drawing board and will probably be another stop gap measure.

Lease at the Gabba runs out in 2015 so we only have 12 months to sort it out.

Being extremely selfish hope they opt to the QE11 option as it is only 10 minutes from home.

With the Gabba lease running out, does that mean we won't be playing games there anymore? I thought that the Springfield base was for training and games would still be played at the Gabba?

You are right - The lease that is running out is the corporate offices there so we were looking at combining all the corporate offices, training fields and administration in one area. Currently we have admin in an office away from the Gabba, Corporate offices at the Gabba, Training at Coorparoo and Yeronga so you can see the benefits of combing into one area.  Obviusly with cricket in summer Gabba is not an option.
Matches were still to be played at the Gabba as there is a different lease there and think from memory it is with the AFL till 2025.
