DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, K. Simpson, M. Suckling, L. McDonald, J. Laidler (M. Fuller, A. Georgiou)

Can't go past McVeigh and Mitchell. Simmo should score around 95 again hopefully, has a consistent history in the 90's. Suckling a good value choice capable of going 80+. McDonald should play games and hopefully Laidler does too. This will most likely change as I don't see all these rookies playing but have Fuller and Georgiou who also needs to be upgraded but looked good in NAB 1.

MID: G. Ablett, S. Pendlebury, T. Cotchin, M. Priddis, D. Beams, D. Thomas, D. Tyson, V. Michie (X. Ellis, L. Dunstan)

The highest scoring position and hence why ive loaded up on high scoring players. Ablett and Pendles are the 2 best SC'ers so can't look past them. I see cotchin as great value with his easy draw along with an injury interrupted season last year and still managed 106. Priddis is underpriced, has an easy draw and is underpriced (due to injury score of 5), also realised that apart from that game along with his other injury game in 2012, his lowest score in the past 3 seasons (63 games) is 86 which shows how consistent he is. Beams is great value and even said today in the Herald Sun that he wants to better his 2012 form (if that's even possible, yes please). Thomas could be good value if he could average 90+ however will watch very closely in his NAB game. Tyson a 'key mid' according to roos, absolute gun and clearance king, dominating practice matches and had 16 possies from 41% game time in NAB 1. Michie looks the goods if he gets game time and the same goes to Ellis and Dunstan. I've tried to get who I see as the best midfield rookies.

RUC: T. Hickey, A. Sandilands (T. Derickx, F. Thurlow)

Very risky I know but Hickey should be number 1 ruck at stkilda now which will surely increase his scores. Sandi also represents great value for someone who can average 100. Just letting everyone know i'm not actually planning on keeping these guys, they are there to make money and trade to the inform premos around there byes, both round 10 byes for a reason so I can trade them to players from round 8 and 9. Derickx looked better than Nankervis the other day and Thurlow could get early games without belly.

FWD: P. Dangerfield, D. Martin, L. Franklin, J. Darling, G. Rohan, S. Kersten (J. Kennedy-Harris, J. Impey)

A little bit weak but I've got my 3 must have forwards in Danger, Martin and Franklin. Darling is my breakout contender, has an easy draw early and likes dominating the weaker opponents. Rohan is there for JS and his price is too cheap to ignore and will improve to around 60 points hopefully. Kersten was already on my radar, even more so now that vardy has gone down. JKH should play however see his scores being all over the place, still not sure on F8, don't know much about Impey but a few have him but will most likely change.

All good except Cotchin and the other 3 mid guns out round 8.

Also , I do not concur that Cotchin has an easy draw.

Consider this - based on a spreadsheet linked to this site where teams are ranked 1-4, 5-8, 9-12 and 13-18 (as best as one can) the difficulty groupings UP TO ROUND 8 are

Easy - Ade / Car / GWS / Mel / StK / WB
Med - Fre / GCS / Haw / PA / Syd / WCE
Hard - BL / Coll / Ess / Gee / NM / Rich

PS Pendles average against the first 7 teams he comes up against this year was 130ish last year. Maybe the difficulty of the draw is not important.

Also, Cotchin vs this year's first 7 was 105 last year.

I Iove stats.

Good luck.

Oh - and did you have Priddis last year. I did and just couldn't get rid of Mr Boring and Consistent who never quite scored enough.
Be warned - aim higher.

Cheers mate, that's my only worry with the byes. And no worries mate, just said it because the AFL Prospectus states that over the course of the year Richmond have the 2nd easiest draw behind the bulldogs. And nah I didn't have Priddis last year, il re-evaluate that choice, thanks for the advice.

Don't get sucked in by Hickey- there are better options at R2 let alone R1 than Hickey.

I agree with Doc about your mids. Cotchin needs to become Watson/Rocky/Griffen

Would you consider another rookie in the mid instead of Daisy? May need to do so to free up cash to upgrade Ruck

Darling is an interesting POD however for an extra 20k you could get Pav.

Rest is good with a solid structure apart from the mid byes.
