Strategy

• Start with Ablett (first year I have started with hiim)

• Retain cash and upgrade cash cows (the likes of Wright, Murphy, Savage)

• Have versatiliy in DDP

My initial team was a bit weaker but had $1m saved.

Thoughts - rate for a rate.

IMO your team needs to enter a total rebuild mate!

DEF: Weak, only 2 x premiums
          2 rookies starting on field, neither of which look like playing
          2 of your rookies are rookie listed so can't play regular season
          The only rookie in the comp who appears a cert to play is in your midfield!

MID: Weak, only 1 x premium!
         Martin must be played as a FWD
         Mid price mayhem, won't generate enough points
         Poor choice of rookies

RUCK: Good

FWD: Weak, only 2 x premiums
           Zorko is risky, burnt a lot of people last year
           Billings hasn't shown much to justify paying $207k
           There is serious doubt whether Bock will play!
           1 x rookie is rookie listed, can't play come Rd1

Overall: 4/10.... You need to do some research and resubmit. Good luck for season 2014

As DCAK says, a rebuild is in order - this team will fall miles behind early

Spend some of that money because money = points.

I would seriously look at ditching - L Thompson, J Tippett, M Wright, H Cunningham and T Langdon - they don't feature in many teams for a reason.

I like L McDonald in mids to give DPP, but maybe not necessary early in the season when the mid cheapies are plentiful and def cheapies are scarce.

Martin forward.

Zorko, Buddy, Murphy, Ryder, Savage, Swallow, Gunstan could all work.

Billings is expensive.

PS Do you know what the Billings method is?
