Hello FanFootians,

I know the NAB Challenge is still going but I've tweaked my team a little since open day and I'd love some feedback on it as it stands. Take little notice of the rookies, we all know those can/will change by Round 1.

The Hurt Locker

DEF

J. McVeigh/J. Bartel - both exactly the same price, but which one do you go for?? Tough call IMO.
S. Mitchell - tantalising prospect in defence, definite must have.
M. Hibberd - I can seem him going further again in 2014, likewise P. Hanley who I have also considered.
M. Suckling - your token mid-ranger that will bounce back to original form (hopefully).
K. Kolodjashnij - the apparent must have rookie
L. McDonald - the other must have defence rookie, though I am serious skeptical he'll play rd 1, since who does he push out?

M. Fuller - bench rookie
A. Georgiou - bench rookie

MID

G. Ablett - How can you not. Don't care what people say about his price and that you're better picking him after his bye, he's capable of anything!
S. Pendlebury - see above.
T. Cotchin - So many players I could have picked here...hard to settle on just one, but after Cotchin's display tonight, he's in for the moment, but this is more than likely to keep changing.
M. Murphy - Been Mr. Consistant for so long, but finally fell from grace last year. Back to the top in 2014.
D. Beams - obvious midfield choice apparently.
D. Thomas - see above.
V. Michie - Always liked this player, was disappointed Freo didn't give him more chances. Now at Melbourne, will flourish.
J. Polec - Similarly to Michie, I'm hoping a new lease on life for Polec will bring in the cash cow dollars. Could change though.

A. Morabito - fingers crossed, but more than likely he'll change
M. Crouch - bench rookie.

RUCK

A. Sandilands - Too cheap to pass up. Yeah, its a risk with the turf toe, but seriously, even 6 games of 100+ would make me happy.
T. Hickey - With McEvoy gone, Hickey is the new #1 at the Saints and with this badge, his scores will rise immensely and so will his price.

T. Derickx - With just M. Pyke in the ruck, it was pretty obvious that a rookie Sydney ruckman would feature here. Wait and see if its Naismith or Derickx thats the favourite understudy.
F. Thurlow - bench rookie

FWD

P. Dangerfield - nothing needed to be said here.
D. Martin - Another solid choice here.
C. Wingard - No second year blues to be found here and worth it, though Roughead is a strong possibility here as well.
T. Mitchell - If I had more money, probably would have gone Buddy. That said, I still reckon Mitchell is a solid choice here up forward. Parker is an option as well....hmmm.
G. Rohan - Too cheap to pass up and IMO, will score better than someone like Jesse Hogan or Tom Boyd.
S. Kersten - With Vardy now out, he's name has to come into the mix. Whether he'll score well is another question. Likely to change.

J. Kennedy-Harris - apparently the best fwd rookie going around...
M. Honeychurch - heard his name pop up alot, but he's a bench rookie and could change.

Hi Wayne, how have you been? Still banging your mates mrs & loving the coke? Anyhow, here's my take on your team:

DEF:           
Good, but 2 of your rookies haven't played in NAB and 1 is rookie listed.

MID:             
All 3 of your premo's have Rd 8 bye.  You're right, Murph was consistent, consistently unable to deal with being tagged, no change this year. I don't think "old man Judd" will cop a lot of tagging anymore!

Morabito eh......  Of all the rookie mids to choose from I'd think one with a balsa wood knee wouldn't be the wisest choice.

I like your fwd line, quite strong.
In regards to Wingard, he'd be bloody unlucky to suffer from 2nd year blues as a 3rd year player!  ;)

Overall I think your team needs a little bit of work to balance, shouldn't be hard, just do some study.  Best of luck for season 2014 Wayne!

Nice team but

I would McVeigh over Bartel, take a look at your midfield come round 8, bolster your rucks, get Buddy and make money to find these changes by getting rid of Cotchin.
