I believe we'll play Griffo.

He's Choco's project player this year and we've persisted with him to date because he's such a good talent.

He's still young, and he's got a massive kick on him. I reckon he could definitely be a good player.

If Ivvy is out, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ben Griffiths play as relief for Hammer.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, structurally I like Griffiths in the side, it just becomes a question of maintaining some form over the next couple of weeks.

If the reports on Maric are correct think he is a given , there has been big wraps on him since he arrived at Tigerland but am pretty sure injuries not form has kept him out of regular games , so as long as he stays fit and in some form looking good for the Tiges and supercoaches to

He's been kept out of the side because he's been pretty average at VFL, he simply hasn't stamped himself at any level to be honest. Griff was originally recruited as a project player, even in the TAC he only ever dominated one match, it was a 6 goal performance that gave us a sneak peak of what he could become. There's no denying he has some tantalising tools, his kicking is a thing of beauty, as good as Ben Graham when on song, and he is pretty mobile for a big fella.

Up until now, Griff has been struggling with some mental demons, he has admitted to bouts of depression and at times has looked disinterested on the field. That killer instinct has been sadly missing. However, I have noticed a seismic change this year, maybe it's that he's found his niche as a second ruckman and is relishing the challenge. So far, so good. I hope he maintains the rage and becomes a Tiger regular.

Griff is a big chance to play round one, us Tiger supporters rate him highly,
Hampson will play in the ruck with Griff up forward, but expect them to rotate.

Did not know about him having problems with depression have not heard or read anything but if that's what has kept him from playing and playing well lets hope he has overcome this because like I said he could be a big suprise package this year

If Maric does end up have surgery and not playing early, i'm going to look very closely into Griffiths! At 230k could be an absolute bargain! As long as he rucks, which he will have to do with Maric out, i can see him averaging around 80.

Yeah, was watching the news just before and heard about it, then muttered to myself "Hello Griffiths" :P ;)

Keep in mind Griffiths will only provide relief for Hampson he won't spend loads of time in the ruck. I don't see him averaging much over 70. Hampson on the other hand becomes very relevant. One of the best in the comp at hitouts to advantage. If he can rack up 30 hitouts a game and get a bit of footy around the ground he could easily average 90+

i'd happily take 70 from Griffiths a week at 230K

If the NAB is anything to go by, he should see a decent amount of ruck time! The game without Maric and Stephensen, he had 16 hitouts, with Hampson having 26. Shows he spent considerable time there! And yeah, i'll easily take 70!

And when they decide to play both Stephenson and Hampson what happens to Hampson and Griffs scores then?

Danzac

Hampson seems like a good little scorer with not much opportunity.
In 2013:
84 vs RICH with only 8 HOs
78 vs WCOA, 14 HOs
79 vs MELB, 16 HOs

Only problem is, the guy he'd replace in my team is Sandilands who should smash him score-wise.
He's a name to remember, but he's about 4th back in my depth chart

They've got to promote Big O first. Not a forgone conclusion at the moment.

Question: Is Griffiths a legit ruckman or a pretender? What does he do in the VFL?
