Carrots (399k)
Pros: Averaged over 90 in both 2011 and 2012 and can rack them up big time.
Cons: Definitely could play a defensive role again this year which will see him down at his sub 70 average.

Dale Thomas (346k)
Pros: Well below the price of which he will average. He could easily average over 90, and possibly over 100.
Cons: Injury plagued with only playing 5 games last season.

Shane Savage (364k)
Pros: New club, and will get more opportunity. Hopefully will step up as St Kilda will need it.
Cons: Has the potential to score some shocking scores.

Toby Greene (415k)
Pros: Has the ability to average 100+ based on first years performance.
Cons: Was very average last year.

Probably missed a few options here. I think most people will start with one of these guys. At the moment I have savage, but that's definitely not final. What do you guys think?

pommyadam

based on these prices:

Wellingham - showed glimpses of what he could score last year (3 games of a 90+ average) but played injured and low on matchfitness for a reduced average
Coniglio - guys got SERIOUS leather poisioning, but can he score well playing for GWS (and 3YB?)

personally looking at Wellingham, Greene and Daisy for my M5 and M6

I'm going with Daisy i think he will do well at carlton and should score pretty well.

Im not sold on savage, can't see him improving his average to above low 80's

I really want to get Toby in but just simply cant afford him

henry

I'm not going any of them, would have to say that daisy and Coniglio are the most attractive to me. I'm going with 2

Jukes

Nobody on Shiels yet?
Pros: Most dt in match 2/2 this pre-season w/ 122 and 114, priced at 63 but averaged 103 in 2011
Cons: shower the last couple of years because of tagging and poor form, it's only the NAB cup

He's in my team, along with Savage.

Daisy T is in...

Wright is, technically, a mid-priced Mid/Fwd, and he might get a crack, maybe - (obv. Fwd)

Same with Zorko, however, Zorko is very likely in Fwd.

same with David Swallow, but only about 65% chance of bringing him in... and prob in defence.

Other then that, no-one has stood out for me in that mid-price mid range.

Well... Whitfield, what with him topping DT for his team last match.... but, I don't think he'd be a great choice.

Adamant

Have to have Daisy at his price.

Windigo

If your going down the mid priced path, I'd only go with proven scorers from the past.

Tuck was a prime example a few years ago.

I'd only go near Thomas.

Proven and is value at his price.

Swallow, Coniglio ect have the potential, but not the hard evidence to suggest they'd come out and average enough to constitute getting them at their prices IMO...  :-\
