Jack Steven will explode this year!
No brainer IMO...
I think he will average 105-110+ and can go 150+
Personally, he's a lock
Hi Haze,
Does the extra attention Steven will get with NDS gone, and Hickey rucking to him rather than McEvoy concern you? I'm not sure, he has massive endurance and can run taggers off their feet, but it has to be a risk - however to break above the pack its risks that are needed.
I'm a massive Steven fan, and backed him for the brownlow at 250/1 before NDS and Big Boy left, but I'm in two minds here.

Yep, you are spot on with risk vs reward there! I think he will be quite a unique selection as alot of people will have that same mentality that he will be the number 1 mid at st kilda and get some heavy attention, but, I think he has shown more than enough towards the end of last season that he can handle close attention and still go 120+, to warrant his selection. As for the Hickey situation, I don't think that will trouble his scores at all. Hickey is good enough to be competitive against the biggest rucks in the comp without being a superstar (unique pick in his own right) and Steven is good enough to get his own ball around the ground.
Having said all this,
I can guarantee that Steven will be in and out of my side 10 more times before rd 1 lockout! Hopefully I have the balls to back him in ;)

Agree with this order...Fyfe is good but i'll stay away this year after what he and Ross the boss did to me in R23 last year..i had Mayne aswell.

Yes I know their easy start - I also have Joey on my radar as a POD  (i know he misses round 1). I do have one spot available for a premium non-round 8 mid like you. Think Steven has only made in once so far though!
