If he falls out of form, just drop him for Dawson and it'll fire him back up :P.

Okay yeah, the free-for-all bidding is going to be insane.

I feel like there will be a lot of rage from several parties.

Like I said, a cap would make things less chaotic. Ossie's meant to be participating and running it so there's more chaos for him.

There's no sane way things should be over on the first night (eg all 60 players in teams) so there's no reason to not cap because we're going to be running over several days anyway. A cap would at least mean that team threads don't get clogged up and you're not hamstrung if you can't make Thursday.

a cap would destroy some peoples strategy though

It has been clarified in the rules that process will be completed each day until all teams have their 10 players.  If you miss out Thursday you will have the remaining players to choose from Friday and so on.

Oss has made this rule and clarified it so he is happy with it.  He will have his own stratgey and with FF Time stamp he can check all bids close to closing time. Agree it will be cazy but that will be part of the fun.

If cap introduced it will benefit those short of cash more so than those have had a strategey on how to spend their $10m cap.

Also bear in mind it is not the next 60 players it is any players from any of the teams not taken.  You have to list them to start bidding and this is what Oss means by saying Bid Early or Bid Late and You have been warned.

Master Q

How does the cap affect those with less money? Makes little sense to me.

Also, having it on one night is plain stupid IMO. Obviously a few players will roll over, but those who are busy won't get a chance to bid.

In the past, when I've been busy during an auction I'd just go on my phone and try and bid, but that's just one player. I've got a family birthday on Thursday, so probably won't be able to bid.

Finally, is it possible if you could add the list of players available to each thread? This is much more helpful than just excluding players who have already been auctioned.

That's still a fair few names to list.

As a fantasy coach and an AFL fan, you should know the main guys and/or who you want.

If you cant be on at the deadline then you leave bids with the max you will pay when you can be on.

I'm not asking to change the rules just for me. But doesn't that ruin the "strategy" that everyone is talking about.

Naming players early will just get snapped up by others. It can't work both ways.

Q, first off I don't react well to people calling me stupid,  so forgive me if this is a bit short

You can bid tonight,  tomorrow and Thursday.

You can ask someone else to bid for you.

Im happy for you to come up with a list of players available. But that puts you at disadvantage.  Those with the knowledge win. Not everything has to be spoon fed

Ringo

That is the strategy some coaches have adopted with retaining cash for players they have identified not in Top 60.  Doing a bit of research is what was needed and the rules were set so why change it now and penalise those that have strategised this way.
eg I know player X is not in the Top 60, I now the clube he plays for so I just have to decide when to lodge the bid.  For the record I have a list of 10 players to bid on to finalise my team.

Master Q

Sorry if I offended you Os, wasn't calling you stupid, just not a fan of the idea.

I was going to bring this up before I even knew I had plans for most of Thursday night. Understand that you have team lists, was just asking if you did.

Bidding for 10 people over 1 day instead of 2 is destroying strategy? Puh-lease. So Precious :D
