I have both and it will stay that way unless Laidler gets a round 1 gig. But one thing's for sure, I won't go into the season without adequate bench cover, this is definitely the year where job security is paramount.

I'd like to know if Shaw will affect McVeigh. If he and Eski are the halfbacks where does that leave Jarrad? If he goes back to the fwd/mid rotation then I would rather him be an upgrade target. More likely to score 95 than 105. But if he stays off HB then I want him from the start.

why do every single player have to be a keeper?
I certainly don't see him as a keeper but 70-80 is decent for a bloke priced that cheap.
He's got great job security which is important.
upgrade him after he makes you a bit of coin.

TBH he looks as good an option as suckling. Suckling isn't going to avg more than 85.
both cheap as f@ck will score 70-80 weekly, have great JS, make a bit of money and upgrade to a premo.
Yes! Exactly why does every player have to be a keeper? Mid pricers may be the way to go this season if more rookie don't surface. And u can't expect all to be keepers. But if they score well for their price, make decent money what's the problem? JS is important and we may have to pay extra for that.

suckling is very much a worrying pick for me ... shaw is definitely his equal or better in my opinion

Very curious about this too.

Currently has McVeigh at D1 but would downgrade him instantly if this is the case and look to upgrade to him during the season

I still don't think he is a viable pick. Shaw hasn't averaged over 77 since way back in 2009

But he has job security, in an ideal world you would play McDonald at D6, but at present there's no bench coverage. The other option is to bring Mitchell and McVeigh into the mids and put Langdon at D7, but you won't be making too much dough with this arrangement.

Never liked spending too much money on defense as the premiums here ar the lowest scoring, but was looking like being forced to do so, now considering running with a set up something like - Mitchell, Hibberd, Grimes, Suckling, R.Shaw, Wood (McDonald, Georgiou/Fuller).

Mitchell locked in, 2 of hibberd, hanley, grimes, swallow at d2-3, then the 3 underpriced options, allowing mcdonald to be bench cover.Shouldnt give up too many points and allows an extra premiun elsewhere.

Any word on when maric is back? He would need to be out for at least 8-9 rounds to consider griffiths for me.Would hate to pick Griffits only to have him dropped for Maric at rnd 3-4 if Maric is back then. Would have to play very well to keep his spot after that, Roo, Vickery, Maric, Hampson, Rance, Astbury, Chaplin all well ahead for key position spots, amd playing any more big guys woupd likely unbalance the team. Would have to push someone like Astbury out for a key defensive post but think the tigers see Astbury as a long term option at FB/CHB.

i get what your saying, been reading on a few tiger forums that a lot of the guys on there rate this guy better than Hampson.
take out of that what you will, good NAB Maric out and i think he will play well enough to keep his spot.

6-8 weeks which would make it rds 3-6.

i reckon 6 weeks is ok enough for Griffiths to make a bit of coin.

No way is Griffiths a better ruckman than Hampson, in fact this is the first time most would have seen Griff taking on extended ruck duties.
