A couple of significant statements from Ross

"You'll see (Nat) Fyfe more forward, (Stephen) Hill and (David) Mundy can go back, (Michael) Walters on ball, (Hayden) Ballantyne on ball," Lyon said.

"Hawthorn introduced a little bit more flexibility last year and I think, two years in, we're more confident to be able to do that.

"We'll push for youth coming through with (Hayden) Crozier, (Tommy) Sheridan and Lachie Neale," Lyon said.

"Cam Sutcliffe really stood up in finals. That pressure from underneath is really coming.

"And (there will be) a couple of changes at stoppages but they'll be harder for the general public to pick up, but for us we'll really see the benefits."

He like to keep us on our toes

"Oh, and Pav will be playing as primary ruckman while we try Sandi out in a back pocket"

Ross Lyon- ruining SC teams since ever.

+1 I hate Ross, doesn't he know we've got a serious competition on the line here. Just play the boys where they play, stop flowering around! Oh and maybe play a rookie or two, or are you gonna run Freo into the ground to achieve nothing and junp ship like you did St Kilda.....

Looks like Barlow's the man then..

Don't really see how any of the ones he mentioned in the first sentence would ruin their scores. Fyfe goes forwards and kicks some goals means more points. Hill and Mundy playing as rebounding defenders floating around the back is gold for SC, whilst moving Walters and Balla into the middle would help them score more as they would see more ball.

Walters would be one to look at now I reckon..

How can moving some forward away from mid increase their scores yet moving some away from forward to mid increase their scores at the same time? Blind optimism.

So Fyfe sees less of the ball but scores more and Walters and Balla (why is he ecven in this conversation?) kicking fewer goals score more.

Have your cake and eat it too.

Ross Lyon is a bore.

Ross Lyon has developed some of the best premo SC players going around...

Maybe Lyon has realized that recruiting Gumby wasn't the best idea. Plan B, Fyfe might have to play a bit more up fwd this year ;D

Does sound a bit paradoxical but the way I see it is he means Fyfe will spend more one in attack rather than resting on the bench, therefore keeps his mid time up, but also pops up for one or two goals. Then moving Walters (let's ignore Balla) in to the mids when the ball isn't getting to him up forward will see him get more ball. Gotta look on the bright side ;)

If he means he will play Fyfe like Zorko last year then that would be terrible.

Looking at it that way - yeah baby!
