My Chumps

A thread for quick fixes and opinions!

I think we had one last year that was largely successful so here goes another as we near the business end of the preseason.

Basically, what you do is answer the question proposed by the person above you (i.e., Mitchell or McVeigh?) and then ask your own dilemma to be answered.

You cannot put up your question until the one above you is answered. And it would be appreciated if you could give a little reason for your answer.

I'll start it off with a pretty straight forward one;

supposing you could only have one player, Suckling or Daisy Thomas?

GoLions

Suckling, as there is more value in the midfield rookies than in defence, and I'm making the assumption that if you take Suckling, you would be fielding an extra rookie in your midfield, and vice-versa.

Roughead or Wingard?

Slightly01

Personally I'd go Suckling because there are many rookies in the middle you could use instead of having Thomas, however there are few down back. Also just love the way Suckling goes about it. That being said, if fit I think Thomas May go higher than Suckling......
If you pick Sandilands, do you have to have Dixon as cover considering the dearth of ruck rookies who will play?

Roughhead, think he will flourish without buddy, also not sure Wingard will be able to back his year up from last season, will start to attract some attention and there where a number of games where he got his score pumped up by a winning assist or kick.

Watson/Hurn vs Murphy/McVeight

Roughead, as I would like to see Wingard prove that he didn't just have a flash in the pan season last year, and Roughy did well playing with and without buddy so I don't see the team change affecting him as much as others seem to be concerned about. But with that said personally I would adopt a wait-and-see approach with both.

Well you don't have to have Dixon but it would be wise to know what your plan B is if he goes down. Personally I don't see Dixon or Sandi being a keeper so I'm not going to bother with DPP cover, if Sandi goes down early I'll count it as a failed risk and trade him. Rather 1 trade for Sandi than 2 trades for both Dixon and Sandi later on.

Watson/Hurn vs Murphy/McVeight

Personally Murphy+McVeigh because I don't think ASADA are done just yet, and Murphy could well get to 110+ status again. I think Watson might average 115-120 (if he avoids the banhammer) but McVeigh will get more than 10 points better than Hurn.

Assuming I have to make one of these trades for cashflow purposes, Pendles to Cotchin or Daisy to Dom Tyson?

Grufflez

@1 Daisy
@2 Roughy
@3 Watson/Hurn
@4 Pendles to Cotchin

@ Me...Tea or Coffee?

My Chumps

Pendles to Cotchin. The difference between Tyson and Daisy is a lot greater than the difference between Pendles and Cotch.

Hmmmm... Coffee. Maybe Green tea if it's an option.

Luke Parker or Tom Mitchell?

nrich102

Parker. Don't think Mitchell will back up his year last year.

Bartel or McVeigh or Walker or Mitchell?

Grufflez

@Chumps  Parker
@Nrich  Mitchell the safest bet there

Which Combination...

A.  S.Savage,B.Gundy,C.Dixon.M.Pav
B.  W.Minson,D.Petrie,J.Lamb,Rookie

My Chumps

I'd say Mitchell NRich.

Tough one there Gruff!

I'd go with A, but only just. Don't think Lamb's gonna have a great year and don't see much improvement in Petrie tbh. Grundy should go 80+, Savage similar (if not better) and Dixon and Pav are safe bets.

Minson or Goldstein?

Minson or Goldstein?

Minson, think Goldy won't get 100% on ground time like most of last year.. should go wrong with either though..

Dahlhaus vs Parker is one Im flicking between..

Dahlhaus. Has been threatening to break out for so long...

How about Goldy vs Minson if I get the choice in SC Draft?

Minson or Goldstein for draft?

Goldstein, been solid and improving for a few years, wheras minson took a giant step forward last year and not sure if he can maintain it. Also more improvement in the kangas side this year than the dogs.

McVeigh or D.Martin? Not sure weather to have 4 premiums back or forward. Could go martin & r.shaw/wood or Mcveigh and any of the 200-250k rookies. Not sure these two popular guys are worth the starting price and wanna risk leaving one out.

How is he overpriced? The pricing is based on his average over the course of the year. If anything he is UNDERPRICED because he scored an average of 145 over two games in the finals which don't count towards his average/subsequent price...

A defender who can pull out a score of 184 is a very rare occurrence. He had 8 scores of 120+ for the season, freak.
