Half-back Grant Birchall has not been named and will be relying on one practice match to tune up for the Hawks' round one clash with the Brisbane Lions on March 22.

Why wasn't birchall named? I haven't heard anything about him being injured?

Ricochet

Haven't heard of any injuries or setbacks. He'll be fine

R.Griffen

haven't heard anything but I'm not sure how Hawthorn are going to play tomorrow night since they played Brisbane under 18s last week

Birchall still hasn't played yet?! This from the Hawks football director

Mr.Craig

28/2.

"Birchall is set to resume next week, we think. He hurt his knee against Essendon last season and every now and then it troubles him, but it seems like he is right now. We have deliberately not used him up in the pre-season. The plan was for him to be reintroduced next week.".
