Browne to miss season 2014

ESSENDON midfielder Alex Browne will miss the rest of the 2014 season after scans confirmed he has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The Bombers confirmed the diagnosis on Wednesday, with the club opting for a traditional reconstruction for the 21-year-old.

Poor kid. Hope they give him another year.

 :( Sadly I doubt we'll give him another year... Really liked the glimpses I've seen of him at AFL level and he was good in the VFL ... BUT his body has always been an issue (hammy's especially). Hope we give him another shot but I dunno.

Yeah, I think this was the year he was gonna get to finally string a stack of games together and cement a spot in the 22.

Hopefully he's retained and given another chance in 2015.  :(
