Another game to be wary off Brisbane near full strength and Suns resting players (Ablett and O'Meara rumoured to be rested)

Ringo

Not a lot can be taken from list with Lions fielding close to Round 1 Team and Suns resting Ablett, O'Meara, Rischitelli, Swallow and Prestia from their line up.

Only players missing from Brisbane lineup who will be in Round 1 Line up are Brown, Staker and maybe McGrath,  Surprised O'Brien was dropped on last weeks form.

So we see how Beams is progressing, Which 1 of Lisle, McGuanne, West will push for CHF with Brown playing FF,

Cutler looks like he could get a nod in Round 1 so may be a handy bench option.

So do people think we should look elsewhere for a KK replacement. Not named. Hamstring niggle. Or could he get up rd1 without a pre-season?

Each team still play another practice game next week, so he could still get some game time before round one.

Glad to see the Lions playing a proper line up this game  :D

@shaker there was no secret that Lions were resting players from first match due to travel involvement and desire to keep players fresh after last years Round 1 debacle.

As the Lions were scheduled to travel over 300km in first 2 weeks agree with the decision.  Also Leppa has made it known that he considers 6 positions still undecided so it gave him the option to see who could step up against strong opposition.

Understand the reasoning in that Ringo but they left so many of there side out it's hard for young guys to shine through when there getting smashed , maybe if they had balanced it a bit more for the two games it might give a clearer picture as some of the young guys who may have been over whelmed in game 1 are not going to play game 2 , but apart from that I am interested in how there A graders are going much the same with Port cheers

Agree, the usual is to rest 3-4 guns from each game, rather than resting 7-8one week and none the next. Also seems to make it easier to judge young guys when they are playing more bit parts, like they would week to week in the season, rather than taking over roles or full time mid spots that theyll never get come regular season.
