I don't think I can stress enough how little the NAB cup says about teams.

NAB is a good indicator of newer players (generally) and telling whether they'll play any games for DT or SC.

It is a very very poor indicator of teams in general

+1. Poor indicator, carlton and brisbane have won nab cups and not gone clise to finals, freo had no more players out than eagles and lose by 100, but no one is suggesting freo will dramatically fall.

Good to see fitness of players, rookies, how new players fit in at thier clubs, how players might change position. But so hard to take results seriously, tiges fans wouldnt want to read too much into the nab anyway, they lost to melbourne last week, so if this week shows how they will go this season, so does last week.

One thing that Collingwood can take into the season is how poor Brodie Grundy was. Not impressive looking at his stats. If the Pies don't have a decent ruck, kiss their premiership chances goodbye (unless you're Hawthorn :P )
