So this new marking contest rule allowing for much more freedom to use strength in a one on one marking contest may have significant effects for a guy like Cloke, last year I don't know how many times he out muscles a defender and took the grab only to be penalized which meant loosing supercoach points, on average this happened what twice a week maybe?? Ya turn those minus points into contested marks and shots at goal and we could be talking a average of 10 - 15 points a week without having to improve at all. But surely with the new rule Buckley would be trying to isolate him as much as possible to.

I mean he's almost close to a lock now isn't he or am I missing something?

Still cant kick straight

Couldn't kick straight last year and averaged what 95? Even if he only kicks 50% of those extra ones he marks instead of giving a free he's adding a decent amount of points to that

We said that the 1m seperation ruck rule would ruin guys that use their strength in the ruck contest and reward the guys that had a leap, yet Minson who couldnt jump over a jam tin was the top scoring ruckman for the year.
We said the new sliding in rule would ruin in and under players like Selwood yet he had his best season.
Players adapt to rule changes very quickly. Cloke is a beast but coaches and defenders arent stupid. They arent going to leave him one out in the square in an arm wrestle all day. Will make a very minor difference if any. Would be far more beneficial to his scores if he learnt how to kick straight

Locked in my team at f2/3 depending on if I take martin. Exactly what was said before, kicked horrobly last year, averaged 95, kicking wont get any worse, but may get a few extra marks. White already appears a better decoy than lynch was also, and still has the quality midfield feeding him the ball. Will still frustrate with the odd 2 goals 5 behinds but am locking him into my team, and hoping everyome else just goes danger, martin, buddy and ignores him.

But you can be confident that Danger, Martin and Buddy will average 100+.. probably 105+
But cloke, even if he has a big season, I think his ceiling is 100 at the very best

Danger yes, Martincan throw in just as many duds as the key forwards though, and while he will probably break 100, dunno about 105+. Buddy is unkown at Sydney, could see 95-110. Ive locked Danger and buddy in myself, its a question of if I pick one or both of martin/cloke as well.

Seems like we are thinking along very similar lines

Disagree there boys. Martin was only a kid up until last year. Scored 12 tonnes, one shocker of 25 in round round 21 that brought his average down but if you take that out he averaged 105.

Cloke only scored 6 tonnes including a 195 against Richmond in round 4 which I wouldnt count on happening too often
