Hi all, this is my second crack at a team. Thoughts/improvements would be appreciated.

DEF: Mitchell, Hibberd, Hurn, Swallow, Suckling, McDonald (Fuller, Georgiou)

MID: Ablett, Pendlebury, Watson, Beams, Thomas, Ellis, Dunstan, M. Crouch (Robertson, Garlett)

RUC: Ryder, Sandilands (Nankervis, Thurlow)

FWD: Dangerfield, Petrie, Franklin, Gunston, Higgins, JKH (Taylor, Honeychurch)

            105K in the bank.

Opinions? ill rate your team :)

GoLions

Defence is solid, Hurn is a good pick, averaged around 95 if you take out his injury game last year
Midfield is good as well, providing at least 1 of Crouch/Robertson/Garlett are named round 1
Not sure on Ryder, should start well but when Bellchambers eventually comes back I can see Ryder struggling to score well
Like Petrie there, think he will go really well this year. Gunston is another good POD. If Higgins is named round 1 then he is hard to ignore at that price, although still a massive risk. Might be better off swapping him for someone like Rohan, and using the cash to turn Ryder into NicNat

Overall a pretty good team, with Ryder being the only pick I'm not too sure on

nperera95

def: Very solid defense. Got Hibberd myself. Think he has flown under the radar hence good POD. Like the Georgiou pick. Played pretty well last game but he is on the rookie list. There is someone placed on the long term injury list at the moment so melbourne will have to elevate a rookie so Georgiou should be up there to be elevated out of all the rookies at melbourne.
mid: Good to see that you have both ablett and pendles in there. Like the Robertson pick.
ruck: Interesting pick in Ryder.. I wouldn't have him imo, especiually when bellcahmbers comes back, i see him playing more forward then ruck. If you want a good POD in the ruck, perhaps you should go for Leuy.
fwd: Love the Petrie pick. Gunston should really step it up this season. Risky with the Higgins pick but he is stays fit, that will definitely be a win.

Overall: You have a very solid team here and you still have $105K in the bank! One of the better teams i've seen. Not much to fault really. Good luck champ! :D

with the money i had left i turned ryder into leuenberger. I also took out crouch as i dont see him getting games. Lots of people have michie so for the same money i think polec could be a nice cash cow.

Hi i have made a few changes. Thoughts would be extremely helpful. I will rate your team :)

DEF: Mitchell, Hibberd, Hurn, Suckling, R. Shaw, Mcdonald (Langford, Fuller)
MID: Ablett, Pendles, Watson, Beams, Shuey, Thomas, Ellis, Dunstan (Crouch, Robertson)
RUC: Leuenberger, Sandilands (Derickx, Thurlow)
FWD: Dangerfield, Parker, Gunston, Pavlich, Rohan, JKH (Taylor, Honeychurch)

If Nicnat is fit by rnd 1 leuenberger will make way. Do you guys think my fwd/def is too weak?

RaisyDaisy

I actually quite like it :)

The reality is, we are all going to have to make sacrifices and have weaker lines to begin with, so although your def is a little weak it's not too bad and I think you can get away with it

I was going to start Shuey  myself, but what worries me is that he beats up on poor teams, and goes missing too often against the better teams. His price, coupled with their early draw represents value but I just can bring myself to do it - hopefully it pays off for you

Please rmt too :)

Blues737

Ok, shoot me the link to your team :)    Personally, i think all forwards above 500k will drop this year. Dusty or wingard would be the only 2 i would pay that sort of coin for.

RaisyDaisy

I agree mate, which is why I have Danger at R1 and Buddy at R2, don't want to spend 550k on Dusty. He will be a Top 6 fwd for sure, but I will get him later when he drops below 500k

My team is posted on the first page of results, just a few under this :)
