I've only had the chance to watch one NAB game so far and it was Port vs Crows.  Reports I've read said Polec didn't look great, but from watching the game he was Ports only shining light?!?  Port had a lot of their best 22 out, but surely Polec being in the system for a few years now is a lock in their starting 22 for round 1? He is my #1 rookie priced lock after watching him play as long as he lines up round 1. Did other people watch the same game as me and what are your opinions on him.

Artax

He was ok, I have left him out in favour of Ellis at this stage.

Xavier?  Hopefully he can string together a season and he can make the best 22 which I'm sure he can.  Will see tonight what he's got and where he plays.

You need to remember there was a lot of players missing from that team.
Does he fit in when they reutrn?
Will he score well when they are back in the team.
I`m not overly convinced by him yet.

Ellis has impressed all at the club this preseason he has apparently trained/worked very hard and is ready to go
He will play if not injured and will more than likely play in the backline as that is where he has been training
And I would take to much out of tonight in regards to positions as Simpson said yesterday on a radio interview there will be a lot of positional changes throughout the game as there maybe 3-4 players vying for one position

Mr.Craig

He was named in the best, scored 87 in a team that got done by ten goals and was mentioned by the coach post game. Not sure who these sources are who were bagging him but that's all you need to worry about.

Ricochet

to be completely honest I hadn't even considered him all preseason as he struggled with the fitness requirements at Port.  But after that decent game on the weekend I'll be watching him a bit closer

Yeah, I know, the first report I read said negative things, but not sure where it was.

135K is very juicy too as the more expensive rooks aren't likely to generate as much cash due to their inflated prices.

He struggled at ports first fitness outing and reportedly ran poor due to "illness", recent word out of port is that he has improved significantly and took a minute off his initial time trial which Hinkley was very pleased with.

Yeh exactly my point. Was behind the 8 ball in terms of fitness from the get go

I all honesty, all my rooks need to do are be cheap to maximize $$$ increase and have JS.  If they score big then thats a bonus, will have to watch the rest of the rooks play during NAB to see if their are any potential Titchells or Barlows, but at this stage Crouch looks the best and maybe Tyson and Michie for high scores.

Worth reading, I know we hear the "this is my best pre season in a while" type stories but at $135k in the age of inflated prices for 1st round draft picks he has to be considered if named round 1, almost a LOCK!!

Toga

I've had him in my team for most of the summer, I was a bit worried about him fitness-wise after early reports so have kept an eye on him but I was impressed the other day. As people have mentioned, he has to be worth a look with all the inflated rookie prices!

Agree with Toga on this. Been in my side and most definitely will be a lock if named R1...
