given the lines that can be dominated by one club:
DEF: Smitchell, Birchall, Suckling (Hodge)
MIDs: Swan, Pendles, Beams (Young)
FWDs: Parker, Franklin, Rohan (Titchell)

where do you draw the line? how many is too many for a year-long team

note: brackets are just other DT relevant options that play for those clubs, they are NOT currently on the subs bench

The main thing is its going to hit you in the bye rounds and it depends who else in that area of yoru team has the same bye.  Will also depend on how you are going to play through your byes, ie, tank a bye round, have an average number of players.

I think 3 is ok as long as you have a plan and don't mind having few donuts.  For me two is my limit even then it depends on your other bye players.  If you can plan it just right though I'm sure you can make the trades leading up to the bye rounds so that you can blow a trade or two on trading for example Swan out and bringing in an equal $$ player to take his spot for the week and then bringing Swan back in the next week (just make sure that guy you bring in is not going to lose $$ cos then Swan might be out of reach)!

If you take notice those 3 teams are arguably top 6 sides for this season and should translate well in DT. Especially when you look at the DEF and FWDS all those players actually play in different positions. And Collingwood have one of the best scoring midfield group of all time with Swan, Pendles, Beams and even Sidebottom. What I'm trying to say is just count these players in the same bye round rather then in the same team, because in the end you do want most of your players from winning sides :)

I don't think that's to many at all mate. Just have to watch your bye structure that's all
