2nd ATTEMPT LOWER DOWN

BACKS:
Thompson, Hanley(MID), Suckling, KK, McDonald(MID), Fuller (Laidler, Taylor)

MIDS:
Ablett, Pendelbury, S. Mitchell(DEF), D. Beams, Rich, Thomas, Martin, Billings(FWD) (Aish, Garlett(FWD))

RUCKS:
Hale(FWD), Sandi (Thurlow(FWD), Nankervis)

FWDS:
Dangerfield(MID), Roughhead, Franklin, Zorko(MID), Hogan, Taylor(MID) (Apeness(RUCK), Kennedy-Harris)

Cash Left _ $219000

DEFS:  I would like to squeeze Simpson or Grundy in, but don't know who to cut and where to find the extra coin.

MIDS:  I'm pretty happy with the mids, but realise that is where I'm going to have to steal coin for the backline.

RUCKS:  I know that Hale is outside the square a bit but I expect he will spend a fair bit of time in FWD with plenty of quality supply from mids.  Originally had Leuenberger.  Still not convinced.  Also considering Grundy?????

FWDS: I'm not unhappy with them.

Really keen on feedback (pos or neg).  thanks guys.

Wow! Loaded midfield there. Lots of PODs though I fear they maybe be "points of destruction" more than "points of difference". Can see you're trying to set up lots of DPP links but don't do this at the expense of worthwhile players.

Backs: Quite weak, and fielding 3 rookies is a massive massive risk (did I say massive?). Leaves you very open to scoring a 0 or two.

Mids: Probably a premo too many hear, and better to have SMitch in the backline than taking up a mid spot. I get that you're looking to capitalise on DPP but think this is not the way to achieve it. Rich is an interesting choice, like his bye round but would expect him to be further up the tagging order than Rockliff (Lions fans?). Pricey rookies here too, there's some cheaper options that you might consider too (Dunstan, Sheed, Ellis, Michie)

Rucks: Hale I don't know about, if you're really after a R/F then I think Dixon is a better pick. And not sure why you would have Thurlow on the bench here and Apeness up front, I doubt either of them will play and you only need one for a DPP link... I think it's better to have a DPP R/F in the forwards as potential ruck cover if needed, I can't really see how this DPP set up could be used to help you? If a forward goes down you can shift Hale there but you're still down a ruck?

Forwards - nice. Apart from Apeness as mentioned no real issues here

Couple of Cutbacks in the mids and a bit of rearrangement I think, nice start though

Def:I would say this is your weakest link by far not enough Premiums and Hanley will get tagged and the lions have a tough draw
Mids:I would downgrade rich to a midfield rookie such as Michie & Mitchell should be up back maybe Rockliff instead
Rucks: Not so sure about Hale could do well but there are better options.if you want a POD that has the DPP link is Dixon but i would not recommend him.
Fwds:Replace Roughead with Martin and Apeness with Honeychurch

Pretty good team apart from the backs but would use some of that cash to improve it even more. give it a 7/10

Thanks for your feedback guys.  Please have a look at this one and tell me if I have improved it or not.

BACKS:
Mitchell (MID), Thompson, Hanley(MID), Suckling, A. Toovey, KK   (McDonald(MID), J. Taylor)

MIDS:
Ablett, Pendlebury, Beams, Rich, Thomas, Martin, Aish, Polec   (Langdon (Def), Garlett(FWD))

RUCKS:
Leuenberger, Sandilands  (C. Wood, Nankervis)

FWDS:
Dangerfield, Roughhead, Franklin, Zorko(MID), Hogan, L. Taylor  (Kennedy-Harris, Honeychurch(MID))

$10,600 left.

Backs - not convinced re Toovey, but seems most reliable I can find for around the $300k mark

Mids - pretty happy with the balance.  Whilst I take on board the likelihood of Rich being tagged (who of his quality is not likely to be tagged?), I am expecting him to take on a more running roll with Black moving on (suspect that Rocky will take on the ball getting and direction changing role with Rich, Redden and Green running through the middle - we'll see.)  Langdon played a good NAB, but I realise that he has to push either Harry O or Maxwell out to get regular games -= again we'll see.

Rucks - back to my original crew

Fwds - I'm still torn with Franklin/Tippett and Roughhead/Gunstan.

Any comments will be welcomed.  Thanks

arbel

Backs: Not sold on Toovey. Not a proven big scorer and don't think he'll make enough cash as a mid tier. Could get another rookie instead. Will make more money and not sacrifice all that much score in the process.

Mids: Pretty good. Think there is better options than langdon though ... ellis or Michie.

Rucks: Yeah stock standard. Just keep an eye for which cheapie sydney rookie gets the nod alongside pyke.

Fwds: I'd change hogan to a cheaper rookie that is playing. Wait on teams.

Not a bad team though

Thanks mate.  How about this then?

BACKS:
Mitchell (MID), Thompson, Hanley(MID), Suckling, Docherty, KK   (McDonald(MID), J. Taylor)

MIDS:
Ablett, Pendlebury, Beams, Rich, Thomas, Martin, Aish, Polec   (Langdon (Def), Garlett(FWD))

RUCKS:
Leuenberger, Sandilands  (C. Wood, Derickx)

FWDS:
Dangerfield(MID), Roughhead, Franklin, T. Mitchell(MID), Fasolo, L. Taylor(MID)  (Kennedy-Harris, Impey)

$29K left.

Some of the rookies will be adjusted after the NAB and round 1 teams selected

Meanwhile ... Rich/Martin to Murphy/Ellis or Crouch.  I like Rich as a POD but slowly running out of nerve ...

Maggie May

Def: Both Docherty and KK are injured so would be in some doubt from round 1. McDonald is a lot of cash on the bench.  I would downgrade KK and move McDonald onfield.  You could then use the money to upgrade Docherty to Pittard or Everitt, or you could downgrade Docherty to another rookie and use the cash elsewhere.

Mid: I haven't seen much of Rich this preseason, but if he can find form he could be a nice POD.  Overall your mids look a little weak with both Rich and Thomas, would probably prefer you upgraded one.  Based on what we have seen Martin doesn't look worth the price.  Think you will get similar output from Michie or Ellis who are better priced.

Ruc: not sure about Wood's job security and that is a lot of cash on you bench not earning you points.  If he's. To selected round 1 I'd drop him for a cheaper rookie.

Fwd: Not sure about Taylor and Impey as rookie selections.  Impey hasn't really impressed so far and Taylor is unsighted.  I actually thin there are less rookies in the forward line than the backline.  Think you'd be better to uograde one of Imoey or Taylor to at least Rohan or Ben Kennedy (or more expensive if you can afford it).
