ADAM Goodes and Kurt Tippett's knee injuries are continuing to cause problems, with both set to miss the start of the season in a blow to the Sydney Swans' new-look forward line.

Goodes and Tippett have both been on limited training programs and coach John Longmire said on Tuesday that the former is unlikely to be seen until at least round three or four.

:(

Goodes I sort of expected, but Tippett's a blow.

Good news for Nankervis to debut early on maybe?

Good point! Not sure about the depth chart there though. I'm sort of presuming that Derickx is next in line seeing as we picked him up as a mature age recruit. Don't want to rush Nankervis into it, and not playing rookies until they've developed a bit is something we normally do, i.e. Mitchell.

Good thing round 1 is against GWS. Hopefully they can come back for round 2

I read neither of them are expected until rd 3/4.

I honestly thought Naismith was ahead of Nankervis, could someone please shed some light on the two and where they stand? :)

Yeah I probably should've read the article.

I'm not really that concerned, given Tippett missed half of last year and Goodes as well

I would like to know this as well. Naismith looked quite good in the NEAFL final.  Is he carrying an injury or is Nankervis getting every opportunity over him.

Don't underestimate how good TNank is. He is well above the any of the other draftee ruckmen this year and should be #2 at Swans easily imo

This. I have him on my bench atm, as he's a chance to play with Tippett out for round one.

Nige

Yeah, Nankervis is definitely the pick of drafted rucks in 2013.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see him get a few games.

Him and Derickx will be fighting it out for the #2 spot, but I he's got both age and skill on his side.

He's just a better ruck than Derickx is and probably will ever be.  :P

SydneyRox

From all I have read, they are very happy with Nank and Derickz, and Naismith has been good

The positive for Nank is he has been kicking goals in the practice matches

I would suspect Derickz is still in from of Nank right this second. But the next three games will be the test.

Dont forget that Naismith is rookie listed still as well.
