The case for Lobbe

I see so many comparisons to Minson of this year, in every way basically.
The amount of hit outs, the clearance work, the tackling, the 1% stuff, and the fact that Minson prior to last year averaged 94 which is similar to Lobbe of 2013.

They both play at clubs with one ruck man (at this stage) and both had average fantasy years prior to last year - Lobbe is still in that stage, but lots of things are pointing to a breakout.

The only thing doubting me is if it's worth downgrading from Naitanui who's proven and having the balls to risk it.
Definitely one to watch during this NAB cup. As someone stated above, if he takes the points from Sauce I will be massively intrigued.

Good write up bud.
Agree with wato, lots of Minson similarities. Fair bit younger aswell.

I had no interest in Lobbe a few months ago.
Been very happy with my nic nat/ sandi combo.
But now im trying to find room, just have no idea at whos expense.
If Nic nat is fit he is a beast of a scorer. So much upside.

And Sandi is so much value, if he gets thru till the byes U absolutely have to have him.
I almost wish Sandilands would bust a toe now and save us all a headache. I know that's a terrible thing to say, but I don't care I mean it. Supercoach is more important than real life...

Haha Dayze I feel very similar about Higgins, you want to just write them off but the upside for their price is incredible, you want something to make you stop considering them!
For me Sandi represents too much value to say no even if he's a risk of breaking early. But by doing that I'm not really up for another gutsy call in picking Lobbe as a top ruck. NicNat also value for how he can score so Natilands for me. If you're picking Lobbe I think it needs to be as R2 rather than R1 and you'll have to go light elsewhere...

Aaronui?

Sandinui?

NicNobbe?

Lobbelands?

I'm going Saucelands + Dixlow at this stage.

Sauce??  :o
After his stellar 2013 season and his unprecedented 54 points in the obliteration of an opponent without their ruck no.1, I can see why...

Please. Don't do that to yourself. Sauce 2013 survivor here. Never forget.

My read on the rucks at this stage is with all the injury risk at the top end and no upside (due to the top rucks already have broken out in 2013), I'm happy for a ruck that plays 22 games, holds his average, and lets me waste money everywhere else.

I survived 2013 too but I forgive him.

Haha sauce 2013 survivor. Quality...
All jokes aside avoid Jacobs. The dude is a lumbering dinosaur. About 12 better options.

Nicnobbe haha. Enjoyed this thread
Grundilands is still the funniest

Really? His average plummeted last year?  ???
What injury risk at the top end? You're taking Sandi who has to be the biggest injury risk in the pack? NicNat is the only other one with a bit of a cloud over him... Minson? Cox? Goldy?

I'm looking at the Mummylands combo at the moment, Mummy had a big finish to 2013 and i reckon he could break the 100 mark this year

Keeper27

Lobbelands is the choice for me... plenty of upsides.

Considering Grundylands but at the moment it's Sandinui.

I keep flip flopping but Naitanui's uncertainty worries me, even if he's named round 1, what's the chance he'll be withdrawn the following week? I doubt too many people are flush with back-ups either. The one thing going for Grundy is he seems the reliable choice, he should play every match in the first 2 months and should also make a minimum of 100k.

Risk : reward.

Imagine NicNait getting back to where he was. And him being in your team. Now that is nice.

Saves you trades later. Makes you points now.

If he doesn't fire, then grab someone else and cut your losses.

With Grundy, he will cost you 2 trades to upgrade to a keeper even if he does make you $100k. He surely can't be a keeper yet?

Sand islands is the big risk but again low price makes him tempting too.

Let's hope Dixon can show something so he can be F4.

I posted something about Lobbe scoring over 100 in a low proportion of his games. I think he is the risky option given his starting price and lack of genuine consistency thus far.

I have to disagree on that 'minimum of 100k', that's closer to maximum if you ask me.
