Missing from Melbournes best 22: Garland, Viney, Watts, Dawses, Clarke, Hogan, Jamar

Both teams missed key players but when you take away all of Melbourne's key forwards its very hard to replace them.

We could have had a full side in against their reserves and lost and it would still mean nothing

If Richmond won by 200 and played amazing footy you would all be losing your minds going Richmond is looking so good, Top 4 for sure and stuff haha and completely forgetting about the "no one cares about the NAB" bit that you are saying now.

The Hawks lost all four NAB matches last year and went on to win the flag.

Are you kidding?  :o It means nothing at all Vin and anyone with half a brain that watches footy knows that. Like mailman said.. Gws beat Sydney last year in the nab.. Did that mean something? Brisbane won the GF.. That counted for heaps to. the nab cup is a joke and always will be thats exactly why they abandoned it and created this new "nab challenge" so that they dont bother with the half assed competiton. The nab cup is to get a bit of touch into the players and give the kids a go and thats all it should be. I would have no different opinion on where Richmond are at weather we won by 100 or lost by 100

On the other hand for footy's sake glad to see Roo's having an immediate affect on the Dee's.

Haha settle you get a little winded up about this.

Whether it's NAB or Home and Away, you lost to Melbourne.

Obviously you will be a force this season and this won't change much but losing to the Dees is still pretty embarrassing.

Vinny you of all people should know that the Nab cup doesnt mean a thing. Carlton won the nab cup and then went on to finish dead last that season.

Richmond could play Melbourne again next weekend in a home and away game and win by 10 goals. They dont care and Nor should they. For Melbourne it was important as they have been a laughing stock for years, for Richmond it was another training drill
