If Michie and Tyson are fighting for a spot then it's first points to Viv. Tyson fell away completely in the second half. Ellis only 13DT after half time. Lennon 3 points after half time. McBean didn't score a point after the 6 minute mark of the first quarter. Cotchin with only 14 touches.

JKH didn't touch it for almost a half of footy but those three goals pushed him to a respectable score. Grimes wasn't too bad in the end. Terlich put his hand up as a legit POD and as mentioned before Michie was good with 19 touches, 8 marks and 4 tackles.
Will need to see points per minute as players had their time managed throughout the game. I don't think JKH played at all in the third quarter. Tyson definitely disappeared for a while, but Mitchie may have too I think. Was good to see the talent of some of these kids but the scores aren't telling the whole story.

I'm pretty sure Tyson went off at half time.

Paul Roos on JKH "he's one of those kids that forces you to play him because his training habits are really really good"

me likely
Good news, Roos normally doesn't play his kids early, but JKH could cement a spot in their 22. I like him as a fwd rookie.

yeah, I mean he was probably just referring to playing him for tonight's game, but if he keeps it up there is every chance he'll be there round 1.

and if not round 1, definitely some time during the season

Loved JKH but I still worry that playing as a forward pocket in a team that will be thumped most weeks isnt going to do him much good. Will show flashes of brilliance but maybe similair to Jake Neade last year where he can have games where he hardly goes near it

Speculator

The neade comparison is valid but I thought he looked better than neade, really impressive. Melbourne need some speed and skill in the forward line. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes it to round one. Another game or 2 like that and he's in.

I expect him to play round one as well but point scoring ability? Im thinking 50's. Just seems like that kind of player that wont get much of it but will do something brilliant every now and then

Pretty happy with what I saw tonight, especially from the young Melbourne players.

JKH = 99SC/69DT from 55% game time
Tyson = 38SC/56DT from 41% game time (16 possessions not bad in less than half a game, just needs to use it better)
Michie = 86SC/87DT from 58% game time

Interesting one is Jack Trengove, 121SC/130DT from just 64% game time, with paul roos as coach and the pressure off him as he is no longer captain he could be a breakout contender for those who like to take a risk.

I dont really like to look at supercoach scores in Nab because they arent accurate. You can just get a feel for which kids are going to make an impact by watching the games. JKH and Michie did enough to get my interest

+1 and I would add Tyson to that list... Kinda hoping Mitch Clark and Jesse Hogan stay down for a bit as I dunno what JKH's likelihood of keeping his position would be once they're fit but definitely showed promise. I haven't got JKH in my team simply because I didn't know if he would play but he would be in like flynn if he's named. Round 10 bye and looks pretty good, if he cal play 8-9 games he'll be a winner of a cash cow. It's just that if is a very big one!

I'll take that over an ACL any day of the week.

Yep, of course could've been career ending. This isn't too bad.
