If not named for game 2 may have to look elsewhere.

Hope L.taylor goes round 2 of NAB. Cause if he dont the fwd line maybe a little difficult to choose

forward line has a few decent cheapies - Impey, Kennedy-Harris, Jono Freeman, Marksworth

The back line is the one I'm worried about, maybe Cutler, maybe Georgiou, maybe Fuller, none are certainties unfortunately

Do not take the absence of Beams too much as he will play next game.  The main thing that I take out of this is Stefan Martin is really on the outer with selectors as I would have expected him to get a run with Berger rested but Smith and Michael both preferred to partner West. McGuane is an interesting omission as well but will be interested to see how Lisle, Paporone, Freeman and Close perform.

Was at the training this morning and all he did was walk a couple laps then do some very low intensity ball work with him, far from 100% it seems

Even worse though, Lewis Taylor pulled up short (no pun)  :(
he was looking sharp and even was involved with a ball movement exercise with the experienced guys Adcock, Merrett, Patfull, Leuenberger, Rich, Hanley, McGuane, Brown, McGrath, Redden, Moloney and Beamer while all the others done some match simulation. When they rejoined the main group Taylor left the ground and later done a couple laps but clearly struggled with them.
Think it was just a slight niggle though

Hoping Hartung makes the cut and performs well because I'm still a bit nonplussed that we drafted him. Would be happy if I'm proven wrong about him.

Just for information Taylor was in the rehab group till the new year recovering from injury.  Hope it is not a recurrence.

Thanks for the note on Beams whether he suffered some niggle from the last simulation not sure but was playing well in that.

The other thing about this game to remember is these 2 sides clash again in Round 1 so it may be a case of not exposing too much early as well.

For those worrying about Lewis Taylor and do not know he was with the Reahab group for quite a while recovering from injury.  Suspect both Taylor and Beams will play in the second game if fit.  If they do not then I would not consider for Round 1.

He's one of the two Kiwi guys the Hawks signed (Shem Tatupu is the other).
Tatupu probably not ready (or as ready) as Heatherley because he spent 2013 completing schooling instead of being groomed by the Hawks. Gotta have that second string to your bow
