This is my attempt at my team still needs work but want some criticism on where to fix thinking of adding extra defender but not sure yet still have 430K in the bank.
All rookies are not locked will wait on nab form to choose these guys properly however will definitely be playing mcdonadl as a north supporter lol :)

Backs: Your defenders are way too weak. Need to get rid of 1 of Kolo/McDonald/Laidler and Upgrade Birchall to Hanley and 1 of Walker/McVeigh/Bartel.

Midfielders: Little weak here too... Don't know how much money you have left over. I love Boyd but i'm going to say NO to having him this year.Try and upgrade to Rockliff/Watson. Bontempelli is a no... Much better options. Get Dunstan/Ellis/Sheed over him.

Rucks: Pretty standard here mate. Could have to change if Grundy looks like he is struggling with the work load.

Forwards: Probably a little weak with Pav at F3... You really want him an F4... Get rid of 3 out of Billings/Caddy/Karn/Hogan get 2 out of Lewis/Honeychurch/Lennon and get another prem!

Just little tweeks and it'll look great mate! Good luck

Defenders:Still super risky with your team mate... Ibbotson being a half decent POD but I think there are better for ones close to his price. I'd get rid of Ibbotson for Hanley or Simpson. Both handy. I'd just watch Birchall and Grimes mate. And to save money drop KK to Fuller to use the money elsewhere.

Midfielders: Still weak here. With the money saved with dropping KK and Walker (Ill talk about it later). Buy a proven premium over 1 of Murphy or Beams. Get like Pendles or maybe even Selwood ( Don't know if he will start though). I still don't like the Bontempelli pick... Polec, Dunstan and even Sheed are better picks then him in my opinion

Rucks: This is fine. Plenty of people doing this. But could turn to shower with Grundy not handling the work load and Sandi getting injured

Forwards: Change Walker to Honeychurch or Lewis ( Probably will get games) because Walker most likely won't start. And then upgrade either Caddy or Pav to a premium like Dustin Martin or Roughead.

Getting there mate. Just need to cut down on all the spare cash you have on the bench and improve it with your premiums. Thanks mate!

Thought this comment warranted closer scrutiny. Upgrading Birchall to Hanley? Take out their lowest 2 scores (one of which was Birchall's 30 vs GWS) and their averages are the same. Brisbane has a much harder draw and Hanley will be tagged. Birchall has Suckling to ease some pressure.

So....back to your team kangas.

Def - 3 Hawks might be unbalanced. I like the look of McVeigh, Hibberd and Thompson as keepers over Birchall. Grimes is a risk at that price. Remember last year he was popular and cheaper but went off a bit.

KK is popular so why not try him on field alongside McDonald and get a cheap couple on the bench. It will be very had to get Suckling at D5 with a strong mid and adequate forwards.

So maybe look at 3 keepers and Suckling and KK and McD and 2 cheapies and see what cash is freed up.

I'd really prefer to see Pendles in rather than Cotchin. Whilst Murphy is good value, unless you see him as a keeper he is probably better turning into Daisy. Frees up a bit more cash. You'll end up trading either out anyway and the points differential is not vital ubless you are really going for overall.

I don't know Bontempelli's job security. He seems expensive too given Martin is also around that price. Top dollar really for a rookie.

Grundy will be 20 years old when the season starts I think. He won't get tired before you trade him in and reap the benefits of his price rise.

Walker might not be ready yet but when he is, watch his first 2 scores and get on then.

Caddy could be a ripper. I wonder though, whether he or Billings would be better off on the mids to make use of their DPP. I think either/or not both Caddy and Savage because they are awkwardy priced and a bit risky.

Again, Rohan is too expensive to sit on the bench.

Good luck.

I wanted him to upgrade Birchall to someone else for the fact he has 3 of his top defenders in the same team. And i'd much prefer have Mitchell and Suckling in my team.

I agree. Interesting that McVeigh doesn't seem to be in too many of the teams posted here.

Usually top priced defender (Goddard) is selected first. McVeigh has DPP, an easy early draw and doesn't seem overpriced.

Walker also not popular for some reason. My Carrrrlton mates say he is untaggable.

Cheers

definitely agree with grimes to birtchell only worry is round 9 byes will prob keep KK until end of nab and then choose who ever exites me the most same as laidler if he doesnt get games.
with my mids i am hoping that i can use savage at some stage after collingwoods bye(round8) to go to pendles as i recon he will struggle to keep his average real high with a string of tough games in a row(could be wrong). Same thing again with my rookies ill see who performs in the nab to cement spot. Thinking bompelli to dale though which gives me another cheap premium which i believe can easily average 85+ in the first half of the season.
i really like caddy to be a up and comer if he plays more mid time can easily average 80+ which i believe is the main reason why gelong went after him will dominate imo.  Im happy to move on walker if he is not starting round one but at his price and playing round one i recon provides a good value pick same with rohan assuming he plays round one he should provide value even at 180K.

I got Walker/McVeigh/Mitchell as my 3 at the moment... Not too trusting in Simpson and Hanley.

If you want a player in the mid who will play all to most games at a good value close to Bontempelli, Dom Tyson should be in the Melb side EVERY week. And I am a Saints fan... But if Thomas is fit, i'd pick him over Savage in a heart beat... I really don't see Savage changing as much as people are hoping him too. He didn't even look that good in the Intra-club match. But I guess that's what the practice matches are for.
