Most Improved:

Winner: Aaron Sandilands

We all know what Aaron is capable of, but at 31 years old and to have a massive improvement on last year, it's just incredible. Hardly getting on the park in 2013, Sandilands played every game, but one, in a season where he was one of the top ruckmen.

Sandilands beat other contenders, Chris Yarran, Bernie Vince and Mark Baguley.

Best First Year Player:

Winner: Sean Lemmens

Lemmens, selected with Pick 70 in the WXVs International Draft, impressed the Suns in his first season with the club. Even though Lemmens didn't play a senior WXV's game, he spent a lot of the year in the reserves, where he looked right at home.

Lemmens beat other contenders Tom Cutler and Blake Acres, who all look like they'll have successful careers at Mexico.

Coaches Award:

Winner: Chris Yarran

JROO8's first move as assistant coach to Maca involved getting Chris Yarran to the club. Yarran has really flourished under Jroo, improving his average from 66 last year to 84 this season.

The Suns were lacking forwards this year, with Bartel moving into the backline and Lewis the mids, so Yarran stepped up when he needed to.

Yarran beat other contenders Sidebottom and Lewis.

Great count JROO! Gotta say I favoured Brendon for the medal. Lewis is a beast.

Cheers Torp, I thought it was out of BJ and Sidey.
Lewis was massive in the finals, if only he polled more earlier, he would've gone close to winning.
