Haha thought so.

Daisy + Suckers are must haves IMO.

If Jay Clark is on the money and Suckling isn't right, what are people's back-up plan? This situation isn't aided by the fact that Hawthorn plays on the second week of the split round, so options will be limited.

For me it will have to be bye-bye Pendles and hello Swallow & Cotchin.

I've already got Swallow down back so it's not an option for me.

Honestly, Suckers being out might be a blessing in disguise for my team; the structure is pretty bad with 2 premiums (Mitchell + Hanley), Grimes, Swallow and Suckling. I might just downgrade to whatever rookies starting in round 1 and use the cash to turn Marc Murphy into Pendles.

If not Suckling, is anyone considering Tony Armstrong?

Around the same price, fair chance to line up round 1 with a few injuries at the Pies

29 games with a highest score of 88, doesn't sound a great investment. The other guy worth considering is Atley, there's many raving on about his fitness & speed, keen to see if his footy can match the hype.

5 for me between 250k-450k

Matt Suckling
Dale Thomas (still don't trust that ankle for quids)
Brandon Ellis
Aaron Sandilands
Josh Caddy

Strongly believe these guys can score well if fit and provide reasonable cash generation while been used as stepping stones

hawkers65

6 for me, a little more than i usually do but i like my picks :) :-

- David Swallow @429k
- Matt Suckling @ 412k
- Dale Thomas @ 341k
- Shane Savage @ 341k
- Aaron Sandilands @ 310k
- Matthew Pavlich at @ 437k

The only ones i don't see featuring in my final squad are Savage and Sandi (if injured) My aim is Savage to Pendles in Round 9, as well as getting Goldy in for Sandi when he goes down, or else will be a keeper. Suckling/Thomas can be handy bench security who are well and truly able to fill in for an injury late in the season.

Four for me at the moment but could increase if there are not some cheap rookies playing round 1

Not sure why the concern on Suckling? The article above states he might miss NAB round 1 but on track for round 2, and he played in the club intraclub hit out (http://www.hawthornfc.com.au/news/2014-02-07/suckling-gets-through-intraclub-unscathed)... If he's playing intraclub, gets a run in NAB then you'd think he's be a must come round 1 of the real deal...

Agree with the above comments, think people may be confusing Nab R1 and Season R1..that's my guess

no, in a recent interview with Jay Clark, he was asked why he didn't select Suckers in his initial squad, he kind of chortled and said he didn't think he was in the frame for round 1. I hope he's wrong.
