If the selectors have any sense, it has to be Hughes and Doolan.

Im sorry, but why are you all wanting someone who barely averages 30 in Shield cricket to play? That defies absolute logic. Sure some people dont like Hughes, but he is in stunning form right now and can play any variant of seam to his hearts content. So you need to get behind him, we will still get absolutely butt-raped, but by less.

Yeah agree it's got to be Hughes and Doolan for me, even though Marsh was picked before him that was a bad selection. Marsh has been picked based on one day and t20 form, last time that happened Bailey didn't do very well.  Don't think Henriques really cuts it as a batsman or a bowler, why weaken the side by putting him in instead of a genuine bastman at 6. We could get away with it with Watson and probably with Faulkner too, not Henriques though. The pitches will be green, and I think it's unlikely we will see tests last till the end of the fifth day. This is only a three test series, the bowlers should be able to manage.

I agree with what is said above about Marsh. I still have no idea why he is picked when he only averages 35 and has something like 8 FC centuries after a decade of cricket. He averages almost 1 ton a year in the domestic game. How the hell does that get you national selection in the test team?

You can have all the potential in the world and ability to 'score effortlessly' when you get going, but if you can't even perform at the state level, what chance do you have against the likes of Steyn, Philander and Morkel?

Nige

Picked for the same reason Bailey was.

May do something similar to Bailey which will earn him some praise.

Then he'll get dropped and everyone will be saying good riddance.

Lost the toss and sent in. Doolan and Marsh in at 3 and 4. This is looking like a very green pitch, so hopefully we are 2 down at lunch at worst.

LET's GO AUSSIE!!!

Warner gone, played on. Doolan in early

Whoops forgot to put in my predictions before the start of the series.

1) David Warner wont average over 20.
2) The top 3 wicket takers from this tour will all be Saffers.
3) we will not win a Test Match

BB67th

Shot was not there to play for Warner, didn't bounce enough for him.

Let's hope Doolan can have a good debut here. Would be nice to have a solid number 3.
