Obviously this team is very different to most, however I think the strategy that I've gone for here isn't a bad one. This is because by loading up on all of the midfield rookies, it has allowed me not to have to pick a rookie in any other line - and my defence is all premiums. The two midfield premiums I have selected in Dane Swan and Dayne Beams are uber-premiums, both will average 115+ by season's end. My forward line too is a bit different with the selection of Jack Darling, but I think he will definitely break out this season and the Eagles also have a very good draw pre-bye, and after that I will look to offload him.

What do you guys think? Any advice or thoughts will be much appreciated.

The problem is that this year you can afford to go cheap in your fwd line as there are quite a few cheap options available there. Guys like Fasolo, Clark, Bock, Rohan, Lamb allow you to load up on other areas. But loading up on defence premiums is probably not the way to go, as the difference between premo defenders and rookie defenders isnt much, points wise.
For team balance i would downgrade Birchall and Waters to Suckling and Cutler, and play McDonald on the field. Then use the remaining cash to upgrade a couple of your more expensive mid rookies to underpriced premiums such as Cotchin or Murphy.

I understand the strategy your employing, but theres too much value in rookie priced FWDs this year, and by loading up in defence your midfield is lacking punch.

But just my opinion=)

Mr.Craig

Upgrading to premium mids is such a bugger, I can't imagine not going in without a minimum of four. As zz said, there's good value to be had in the forwards along with some undervalued mids that are worth looking at.

Last I heard Waters had done done his shoulder again and could potentially be out for 4 months. Even if that turns out not to be the case, he is far too risky in a competition with limited trades. Downgrade him and put the money into your mids.
