The SANFL commison have revoked the decision to let the Crows wear the SA 'state' jumper against Port Adelaide, so will wear the Crows standard away jumper instead.

What's everyone's thoughts? Should the Crows be allowed to wear it? Personally I don't think it really matters. Port Adelaide get to wear their traditional 'Prison Bar' jumper in heritage games and the Adelaide Crows were formed from all 10 SANFL teams so I can't see why we can't wear it in a one off game in the first Adelaide Oval game.

Sorry i'm a traditionalist Hagebear - it's a State jumper so a league team should not be wearing it and especially not against a league team from the same State!!!

to quote John McEnroe, "You cannot be serious!!"     ;)

Yes valid point but nothing represents the Adelaide Crows heritage more then that jumper. Port have the exact same jumper just with the Port Adelaide colours.

i'm no crow-eater but from the outside looking in, i would have no issue with the Crows doing the same thing in their colours - just not the exact colours of the state rep jumper!  ;)

The Crows are trying to celebrate 140 years of football in South Australia with a jumper that best represents the Adelaide Corws and the SANFL. Just seems funny that most of the greats of South Australian football are all for the Jumper. It's just Port Adelaide who seem to have a problem with it. Sour grapes I think. When the Adelaide Crows were formed they represented all 10 SANFL clubs including Port Adelaide Magpie, and Port Power since they have joined the AFL have tried to distance themselves from the SANFL and Port Magpies and have only become "1club" because it would of folder if it didn't. The Crows jumper shouldn't bother "Port Power" one little bit.

Not a bad idea to wear the SA jumper but its a bit of a shower stir to Port who had many great players representing that guernsey. Its a bit like Collingwood wearing the Big V against Carlton or Hawthorn which would not happen because everyone would be in uproar. Same thing so a great decision by the SANFL Commission where common sense prevailed.

The SA jumper should only be worn by South Australians. Im not sure of the exact numbers but I can garuntee that atleast half of the Adelaide side arent even from South Australia. It would be literally making a mockery of what it means to wear you're state of origin jumper. Stupid by Adelaide. Glad common sense prevailed

The SANFL 'state' team still wear the 'state' jumper and nearly half of the players aren't South Australian so that shouldn't come into it.

It's not just Port Adelaide who had a problem with it. Chris McDermott, Stephen Kernahan, Mark Riccuitto, Garry McIntosh, John Platten, John Halbert, Mark Naley are just some former greats who weren't happy with it. Not all issues are simple as Crows v Port.

Yes, but it's not the State guernsey. Many teams from many sporting codes have the "V style" jumper.

I'm for Adelaide wearing the South Australia jumper...

... in related news, since Collingwood represents Australia, we will be wearing Green and Gold.

Ha Ha Oss.

Seriously though looking from the outside State Jumpers should be sacrasant to those representing their state and should not be worn by clubs.  Fair enough to use the colours but not the design.

I agree with that Ringo, but it's pot calling the kettle black a bit by the SANFL considering the SANFL 'state' team is made up of Non South Australians.
