Player Profile child board

Hey m0nty
I was wondering if it would be worth having a child board for player profiles in SC and AF and eventually DT.
There are so many of them done for each season and it would make it easier for everyone to find them and to refer back to them during the season if they had there own board.
And technically they don't belong in the P&T section

Agree with this suggestion m0nty so be a great idea to set up the additional child board under the three headings.  Thought maybe one child board initially but with the difference in scoring sytems need one for each comp.

We could probably just have one board and adapt the Player Profiles to discuss both SC and DT/AF in future. Most profiles are basically double ups anyway

This sounds like the best way forward.

How would I deal with existing threads though... merge the SC/DT/AF profiles of the same player into one thread, or keep them separate?

I guess if a certain player profile (for example - Dane Swan) is done by the same member, you could merge it into one thread.

However, if two different members have done the same player, for this year, keep them separate and just add 'SC' 'DT' or 'AF' in the thread title.

Sounds like a lot of work...  :o

LOL, if it's so easy you try doing that a thousand times.

Now that I think about it...  :-X

There doesn't seem to be an easy way to change the title of a bunch of threads at once. The only way would be to fiddle with the database directly, which is fraught with danger if I don't get it just right.

Nige

The merging of two threads of the same player (both DT/AF and SC) can still be done though?

I guess we could probably just send a message out to all profile authors to add DT/AF or SC to their profile title...  ???

m0nty

I have taken the plunge and edited the database directly... and I didn't seem to stuff anything up.

Seems to have worked as well.

Nice work.  :D

Ringo

Looks great m0nty and with the prefix easy to distinguish if you want specifics.
