Hi,

I have picked a squad. I have had some inside work a few players to have in your team for instance
A.Woodward(HAW) Went to school with him played some footy with him, and even seen him train this year... his looking really fit a good, I would suspect him to play a few games this year, his cheap and would be handy to have on the bench as a scoring rookie.

This is my team so far.

Back:
H.shaw(GWS)  A.Mackie(GEE)  D.Swallow(GC)
T.Richards(SYD)  M.Suckling (HAW)  S.Morries(RICH)
Bench  M.Fuller(DOGS) and J.Laidler(SYD)

MIDS:
G.Ablett(GC)  T.Cotchin(RICH)  N.Fyfe(FREO) J.Blair(COLL)
S.Dwyer(COLL) S.Savage(STK) J.Martin(GC) V.Michie(DEES)
Bench: A.Woodward(HAW) and A.morabito(FREO)

RUCKS:
T.Goldstein(NORTH) A.Sandilands(FREO)
Bench: A.Smith and P.Mitchell = I choose no bodies to keep the fielded players HIGH scorers

FORWARD:
P.Dangerfield(CROWS)  C.Mayne(FREO) L.Henderson(BLUES)
L.Thomas(NORTH)  T.Boyd(GWS)  D.Garlett(HAW)
Bench: M.honeychurch(DOGS) and S.Tatupu(HAW)

I still got $108.400 in salary. Any advice on the side?

Thanks

BigMac93

backline needs to improve. Not sure how Shaw will go at GWS but with less experience around him he may stuggle to shake off a tag. Im staying away from him so far. Also dont go for players like Richards, Mackie and Morris who have shut down roles, they are not suited to supercoach.

You also need a few more premiuns in the midfield like Pendlebury or Jobe Watston instead of players like blair and dwyer. Or go for undervalued players like D Beams and Thomas.

Maybe downgrade Goldstein to Nic Nat which will help you improve other areas. Sandi a good choice

Fwds are also a bit weak with Dangerfield the only real standout.

Hey Wandererz

SC is a weird kind of game where 20% of players end up in 80% of teams.

There is a reason for this. SC seems to reward certain types of player.

A lot of the people on this site have no life so live vicariously through fantasy games. A lot of us them really should get out and meet real people!

Have a look at the rates teams cop and you'll see which players are popular and why.

Good luck.

Hey tor01doc

Where am I mean't to be looking?? again and out of 10 what would you rate my first crack at SC14 this year?

Thanks

Hey Wandererz

Don't get hung up on rating. What is a rating anyway? I I rate you a 7/10, doc rates you a 6/10, BigMac rates you a 9.5/10, what does that even mean?
Have a look at a bunch of the other teams on this site to see what doc is on about. You won't see Mackie, Richards, Morris, Blair, Dwyer, Mayne, L.Hendo, L.Thomas in many/any teams. You can look at the ratings people give but I think more importantly look at the players who are turning up over and over and over again.

Most of the guys here operate by trying to work out which lower priced players will get a lot of games time and make some money, and which premium players will be the top players to have - then try and balance a team full of them. So someone like Morris - won't end up a top defender scoring you heaps of points, and won't likely make too much money either. So he's just stagnant, doesn't help you improve. You're better off dropping Morris down to a lower priced rookie who might make some money, and then using the savings to upgrade someone like Richards to a top player like McVeigh.

Also with your ruck bench Ok if you want to keep field scorers high, but what if one of them gets injured? You want to start with a full team playing if you can. Including all bench players. If they aren't playing, they aren't making money!

Hey Guys

I have roughly changed my squad. I am worried on a few players in my starting team what do you guys think Luke McDonald North and Xavier Ellis West Coast

I may have gone too weak on my forward line?

A.Walker (Carl)  J.Mcveigh(Syd)  D.Swallow(GC)
M.Suckling(Haw)  J.Clarke(Bris)  L.McDonald(North)
Bench: M.Fuller(Dogs) and A.Georgiou(Melb)

MID:
G.Ablett(GC)  S.pendalbury(Coll)  P.Dangerfield(Crows) M.murphy(Carl)
S.Savage(STK)   J.Martin(GC) D.Tyson(Melb)   X.Ellis(West)
Bench: A.morabito(Freo) and A.Woodward(Haw)

Rucks:

I have 438,500 left in my salary

Spend some of that cash stash.

Dangerfield should be a forward.

I had Jacobs last year ans am just starting to make some progress with both my therapists - but it is your call.

Other than that, I reckon it looks better.

GCSkiwi

Spend some of that spare cash mate...

No-one really knows with rookies but McDonald is one of the best chances for time down back, while Ellis seems to be pretty popular at the Weagles. Still have to wait and see if/how they go in NAB cup and then if they are named in round 1.

Dangerfield is better off up front that in the mids, but your midfield otherwise looks very strong. Dayne Beams is great value at 497k

Sam Jacobs ruined me last year, I wouldn't touch him

Forwardline is very weak - Bringing Danger up here would make it look a lot better but not too sure on Dahlhaus or Kommer... I think you should drop Kommer, switch Danger into the forward line, upgrade dahl and bring in Beams to Danger's spot. Not quite sure if that will work though.

Sweet thanks for the Tip.

Here is my revised team. put danger down back, bought in franklin in forward line and managed to get Watson in midfield.

Another question is, Ablett???? I know everyone will put him in a side coz he scores high? but will he play most of his game forward? and bring in the younger mids in his spot? just a thought

Still u ique but looking better, fwds maybe too strong the expense of other lines, lots of good cheap options fwd, downgrade one of pav or reid to someone like fasolo, clark, rohan or bock, then you can upgrade gwilt to whoever you like.

I don't think Reid will go that well... Fasolo/Bock/Lamb would be better picks and give you leftover cash. Hawkins isn't too bad of a pick... But yeah very risky. Better off with a cashcow rookie like Lewis or Kersten...

Then with the downgrade money you can pick up someone better than Longer, as i don't think he will be that great just yet. (Saints supporter)

Mids are a little weak with Savage being your M4... If after the downgrades you should upgrade D. Tyson to D. Thomas... He will absolute rocket in price and will score well.

Defence is a little weak but still not too bad. Gwilt is a nice POD, heard he has been training the house down. So look out for him during NAB matches

Overall a 7.5/10 just needs some tweeking.
