Saw this on Reddit, thought it could be interesting...

This is a serious thread.

Please keep in mind that should people actually answer this thread properly (which I'm hoping they do), to please be considerate.

I'm deadset serious, but a lot of the images on the 'Offended' page of Encyclopaedia Drammatica are extremely disturbing...

I'm legitimately no longer friends with the person that showed me it (not because of that, we had a falling out).

There was an image I saw of a fissured tounge that has always stuck with me... god damn, makes me cringe just thinking about it.

at my Nan's funeral and was asked if I wanted one last chance to see her body and say goodbye.

something I'll never do ever again.

Mexican beheading videos.
Sickening.  :-\

Slow too, it's not like one chop and it's over. We're talking 5+ minutes of horror.

Yeah, when my Grandpa died, the coffin was open for viewing.

Photos were even taken with us standing in front of it, Dad's side of the family is weird like that...  :-X

5 of my mates including me carried out my best mate's mum and that was an honour. I'd known her since I was 4 or 5. loved her like she was my own mother

can see why some people wouldn't like it though

It is something you get used to after a while.  Undertakers usually do their best to present the body as well as possible so there is not a lot of difference to looking at them as if they are asleep.

My father was an undertaker for 30 years and quite often he asked me to assist him on weekends when I was still at home.  Freaked at first but after a while got used to it so as I said it can be done.  Could tell you though stories that really turned my stomach but will not.
