On a side note j Mart was pretty average.
Didn't start in the guts much at all.

Gonna have to average at least 80-85 to make his selection at all vindicated.
Feeling more and more comfortable leaving him out.

1st big game. Cut him some slack. Mind you, his disposal looks a bit iffy. I'm going to hold him at the moment, but Claye Beams and/or Dom Sheed is on standby.

Anubis

23 touches is not a good match. his opponent had 43 and they played wide of each other the whole match

Mind you, having said that I know a few last year not starting Jaegar and in more particular, Wines and they were scrambling to trade him in for rd2.. interesting times.

Vinny

What were Jeager and Wines' NAB Cups like last season, anyone know stats?

O'Meara: 111, 58, 81 & 113

Wines: 101, 94, 74 & 49

A little more convincing by those lads, but I would see how Martin goes next week before making any decisions

No doubt the kid has talent, but does he have the mental fortitude? Being labelled as the best draftee in AFL history is going to be a heavy load.....

Jaegar and Ollie both had much more mature and stronger bodies than Martin. But only time will tell. FWIW I won't be starting him but will keep enough $ in the bank in case I have to do the Rnd 2 scramble haha (fingers crossed not)

Speculator

Glad I can take the expensive prick out of my team now. Don't think he's worth the extra cash after watching that.

Bully

People need to ask the question, is the Martin hype based on his footballing ability or are the masses thinking about SC scoring potential? From my perspective, Martin doesn't possess the same inside capabilities as Jaeger & Wines and will more than likely find himself on a wing. If this proves to be a correct assumption then are cheaper options such as Polec, Beams & Sheed better bang for your buck? It could be the difference between a playing rookie versus a highly speculative one.

Swallow was good tonight but there was no Prestia or Bennell. When they come back I think Swallow will find it a lot harder to get a lot of the footy.

I think he will improve on last years average but only slightly. An average of 85 - 90 for mine which is not good enough to be a keeper.

Woppa15

McKenna also said Swallow would be stationed in the midfield for the majority of the season after being moved to half-back for long stretches of 2013.

"There might be some games where he might play half-back, but I think he's learning that maturity and composure to have a real impact for us through the midfield."

My thoughts

Swallow= maybe
Hibbard= big tick
J.martin= needs to show a little more

And i think metioned earlier i hope merrit gets up

GCSkiwi

To be honest I've been a big naysayer so far but will have a second look at Swallow now... Would really like to see how he goes with Prestia and Bennell in there too though.

Ricochet

Could prove to be an easy Hendo replacement but I think I might go up to Hurn
