Nice team Luigi and I only have one real concern. How many keepers that you want in your team  at seasons end do you have in this team. My first team was good but when I had a real hard look at it I only had 11. With just 30 trades and injuries, general soreness, Ross Lyon and Bomber Thompson to contend with it wasn't enough to get the final 22 I wanted. So about 7 to 800 drafts later it's a bit closer. You have a great team skeleton to build on, best of luck mate.     ;) ;)

On Gunston.

I believe you take out his sub games and he averaged 90 something.

Killed it at the end of the year & has a very good record in games where Buddy didn't play.

Plus his cheap.

Pav probably a slightly better option tho.
Yeah I think he averaged somewhere around 96 unsubbed including finals

Also averaged around 110 IIRC in games where Buddy didn't play (think there were 6)

very tempting. will definitely look at pre-season matches.
one would have to assume that if stats favour him without Franklin, then it should continue.
and he surely won't grab any more vests.

Cheers mate! Yeah there will be definitely more drafts to come the team will change! Though yeah you make a point about wanting to make sure I have enough keepers already in my squad that I'm 100% sold on!

Agree with sabretooth luigi.  Look for a minimum of 12 keepers and build the balance of your team around that.  That has been my strategy for the last couple of years with 30 trades (and still ran out due to injury). Can only see 9 or 10 possible keepers in this team so play around as you will use most of your trades in upgrading/downgrading.

With your team can not see either Ziebell or Hanneberry  being in top 10 mids so would consider downgrading one to Beams and perhaps if cash allows upgrade to a super prem.  Beams will definitely be Top 10 and at price is too good to ignore

With the increase in prices of rookies this year will be even harder so look at NAB cup to see if any cheap rookies step up and named in round 1.

So do you next 200 drafts and see where you end but it is not easy as I said with the  rookie prices this year.

like Mumford as a unique, risky but could go bang.
I could use an opinion here actually, how risky is Mumford?
[/quote]here is a profile I did on him! hope it helps

Like it now Luigi but just a couple more suggestions for you.

Suckling rumoured to be out for Round 1 so watch -

Mids Watch the byes with 3 Gaz, Pendles and Beams all having Round 8 bye. Up to you but I am just working out which one of Ablett and Pendles to get after Round 9 to save trades.

With Forwards just watch the last 4 and see who is playing.  There are quite a few options in Forward line this year when compared to defence. Eg If Bock is named for Round 1 I would lock him in as he will be this years Staker.

tor01doc

Suckling will still get a starting gig in my team if he is nearly ready to go.

He is quality - albeit a risk, but high ceiling.

Pendles and Ablett will be first picked in my team.

The double points for captain make the top 2 even more important and valuable.

Luigi197

Byes are a toughy. I want to lock Ablett, Pendles and Beams because as doc said the captain points are just so valuable, plus Beams' price is too tempting. I'm hoping that trading up until the byes may help with bench cover somehow. J Martin also has a round 8 bye so if he's cashed out that could work. DPP with the forwards may work, albeit not with DangerF and Martin since they share the round 8 bye.

Of course round 1 teams will help determine my starting squad, but I really want Suckling to be fit. Forwards I don't mind moving around too much, but atm don't have the cash, and would have to downgrade, and if so, I don't like many of those cheaper options. Wary of Bock but am prepared to be convinced..

Albeit it I like the structure of my starting team

10 proven premiums (McVeigh, Mitchell, Hanley, GAZ, Pendles, Watson, Dangerfield, D Martin, Franklin, Pavlich)
6 mid pricers including discounted prems (Atley, Suckling, Beams, Thomas, Mumford, Sandilands)
3 rookie priced players due to discount (Laidler, Michie, Rohan)
3 rookies who have never played AFL (J Martin, Dunstan, Honeychurch)

#25
Italian Stallions
DEF: Swallow, Hanley, Enright, Mitchell, Suckling, Langdon (L Mcdonald, Clurey)
MID: Ablett, Beams, Cotchin, Kennedy, Tyson, Polec, Ellis, Aish (Dunstan, Cunningam)
RUC: Sandilands, Mcevoy (Thurlow, King)
FWD: Martin, Dangerfield, Pavlich, Franklin, Caddy, Impey (Rohan, Kennedy-Harris)
Cash: $70,800
Trades: 30

-Clurey not named
-Fwd rookies doing bad.
^^^What are my priorities here

-Gerogiou, Langford, and Cameron doing fine in the backs that i do not have.
-Ambrose and Taylor doing ok in fwds i do not have.
^^^Just how good and worth it are any of these guys

Suggestions?

Ringo

Clurey to Georgio or Langford would be a preferred trade this week.

Most are in the same boat with forward rookies but all have achievable break evens which may help.  If you want to get rid of one I would do Rohan to Taylor may not rise as much as Ambrose but has better JS. Taylor appears to have cemented a place in Brisbanes 22 but may be vest material from time to time though. Also has the advantage of DPP.
