Hey guys! I've been away for a while, but I've finally started to nail down and do a bit of research and observation and analysis into SuperCoach 2014! This is the team I have whipped up for now that will serve as my base for coming pre-season matches and form guide. Please tell me what you think! Changes will be made!

TEAM NAME: Italian Stallions
DEF: J. McVeigh, S. Mitchell, K. Simpson, D. Swallow, L. McDonald, J. Laidler (J. Kolodjashnij, M. Fuller)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, D. Hannebery, J. Ziebell, D. Thomas, J. Martin, C. Beams, L. Dunstan (J. O'Rourke, D. Garlett)
RUC: S. Mumford, A. Sandilands (F. Thurlow, T. Nankervis)
FWD: P. Dangerfield, D. Martin, J. Roughead, L. Franklin, G. Rohan, M. Honeychurch (J. Impey, J. Kennedy-Harris)

Assuming we all get the rookies right, this should be an easy year!

If Suckling plays, surely you need him to get D Swallow.

Daisy looks good value but fitness and durability worry me.

Having said that Beams seems irresistible.

Can't really fault it though.

Vinny

Great team.

I suggest doing these moves:

Hanners > Beams
Roughy > Pavlich/Gunston
Laidler > Suckling

Don't think you can play two rookies in defence unless it's KK and McDonald but I'm second guessing KK's JS with the Cannon locking down the rebounding defender role.

As Doc said, Suckers and Beams are 100% locks at their price.

Obviously rookies are TBC if we even have rookies to pick haha.

Overall nice work and good luck.

specky92

I was gonna say you're probably a 110+ midfielder short! but vinny's trades I agree with, like Mumford as a unique, risky but could go bang.

sammy123

Needs another super prem.

Hanners and zieball are good. Thomas is average but at that price too hard to ignore. But not 110+ Players. Need a watson/rockcliffe/jack etc

Luigi197

Thanks guys!  :D :D :D

I had them, but then hesitated because I was gathering a lot of players coming off injury, but they obviously seem to be drawing wide support!

Hanners > Beams
Roughy > Pavlich/Gunston
Laidler > Suckling

Only thing with this is that I was really struggling to find good forwards that I like! Pavlich getting old? Gunston reliable? What are some other genuine options?

I could use an opinion here actually, how risky is Mumford?

Ziebell -> Beams
Roughead -> Pavlich
Laidler -> Suckling

This gives me $29,400. to upgrade Hannebery if i want to that possible next level premium, which means anyone from Judd ($534,600) and cheaper...

Try get Cotchin. Somehow make room he is Is 572k

tor01doc

My only worry re Cotchin is the bye - GCS / Coll / Richmond / Geelong.

So if D Beams and J Selwood and D Swan and GAJ and Pendles all start killing it, then is there room for all us Cotchin before their shared bye?

Vinny

IMO Gunston will be a top 8 forward.

Thanks!!  :D

I think that could be possible if I slightly downgrade one of my defenders. Any other midfielder then could be possible.

I want to believe that, but I need convincing. He looks set to explode, but will he attract a greater tag now?

Overall Team is a strong base to work on.

Def: Strong defence- look at Laidler and J.Kolo unsure whether they will play round one- should see if you could get Suckling to D5 but would look to the midfield and forward first.

Mid: Would prefer Ziebell -> Beams and Hannebery - > Watson/Rockliff (rnd 10 bye)

Rucks: Mumford a risk but has the potential to be 110+

Fwd: Would look to downgrade Roughead to Dixon (DPP with Thurlow)/Pav/Zorko/Gunston

The strong base is exactly what I wanted to hear! ;D haha

And yeah I get the midfield idea, though i'll need a but more coin as mentioned. May need a bit of shuffling.

Is Mumford a risk coz of injury or for being at GWS?

Vinny

On Gunston.

I believe you take out his sub games and he averaged 90 something.

Killed it at the end of the year & has a very good record in games where Buddy didn't play.

Plus his cheap.

Pav probably a slightly better option tho.

Yeah I think he averaged somewhere around 96 unsubbed including finals

Also averaged around 110 IIRC in games where Buddy didn't play (think there were 6)
