I think I'll be looking elsewhere for now, seems like Hartung might be the preferred option at this stage.

Woodward might be in the mix as well, but they would be crazy not to let garlett loose at some stage.

I doubt Garlett will play many games at all this year and nor will Hartung who i doubt will even debut this year. If there was an early debut or an vacant midfield spot needing to be filled (Maybe Sewell in a form slump or an injury striking in there) it will more than likely be one of Hallahan, Woodward and Langford taking it, with my bet being on Hallahan.

Article on AFL app today has Clarkson saying that Hartung has out-performed his fellow young guns on the training track.....

"James Sicily and Dayle Garlett are probably a little bit behind him (Hartung) in terms of their preparation"

Pokerface

As a Hawks fan I can't see how he fits in the team with Cyril, Hill and Jed Anderson who are all the same type of player. I see this year as a learning year for him - not going anywhere near him with my SC team.

The word all over twitter is that Garlett's career could be over... Possibly why he hasn't found himself in the NAB challenge squad.

Just recently tweeted by Mark Stevens; 'Murmurs about Dayle Garlett's status at Haw getting louder... hearing career close to being on the line.. Talk of time off'

Not looking good for the kid. Sounds like a complete idiot though! Just to be throwing away the talent he has! Unbelievable!

Nice job jumping to conclusions ::)

Struggling with the pressure of being a footballer, has nothing to do with him doing anything wrong.

He has done mutipie things wrong since crossing to Hawthorn and the reason why he wasn't drafted in the first place was because of his antics, partying and showing up late etc. He may be struggling with the pressure now, but he has put it on himself, as a much closer eye and harsher deadlines have been set by the club purely from his own a cord. Obviously, i feel for the kid as footy is a harsh living, but if you had this talent wouldn't you put absolutely everything in to make it like all the other playings in the comp try an do... Especially, because he could be one of the best players in the comp some day.

Would not feel to sorry for him he has been given an opportunity most footballers never get and 99% of new kids relish the chance , he came with a reputation of trouble probably think it's the hawks just saying not good enough yet
