Rookies in the midfield

Should we be starting 3 rookies in the midfield. I had my doubts about 2 let alone 3. But it is coming clear to me, there is much better value in other places for your money to go. Thoughts?

I am not sure that I can bring myself to play 3 rookies in the midfield, but I can understand the logic behind it.

I was wondering the same question this week, more so that there could be more value in 3 rooks and a prem than with 2 and 2 midpricers.

Which 3 would you go wth though? I am thinking its between scully trengove martin and morabito

I would go Trentgove Morabito and Martin for sure. I have them lined up atm. But I'm still not sure. Just doesn't look right.

Actually no. I have Bartel, Boyd/Mitchell (undecided), Pendlebury.

I've got a midfield of Ablett, Bartel, Boyd and then 5 rookies (Scully, Martin, Barlow, Jetta, Moles) at the moment; trying to decide if I want to get Trengove/Morabito in for Jetta/Moles.

I think the plan is based on them playing well and upgrading relatively soon. If they suck... long season ahead.

I can actually fit Ablett, Swan and Bartel in my team if I have 3 rookies. It still looks weird.

misspies, you are on the money. chuck in moles from the dogs and you have 3 rookies in the midfield which hopefully will score well each week.

Yeah I'm not sure. It just does not look right with 2 rookies in the midfield let alone 3. But if they play, they are looking to get around 50-60 points a game. They will sure go way up in price and will upgrade 2 of them around round 10. thoughts on that?

If you were going to go with 3 rookie mids do u think it's essential to hav 3 prem mids to go with it? At the moment I hav 2 with mcveigh a my 3rd mid then 3 rookies.. Wat r ur thorts bout this is it essential to hav 3 mid premos if u hav 3 rooks or can u hav a mid priced cash cow?

I have Boyd, Bartel and Pendlebury. I wouldn't dare go without 3 Premiums in the midfield anyway. Where would you put it? I already have 4 in the backs and 4 in the forwards. 3 rookies makes sense, but like I said, it just doesn't look right.

Ok I am putting this out there to see who else is going to take a big risk!

In the mid I have Ablett and 7 rookies incl bench...

I have 850k left in the bank and I am taking the chance that a few of these rookies will incease so I can use the cash to up grade to a prem player.

This way I get a look at which prem players are doing best. I have a better chance to increase my valued rookies. I could get a prem mid field by halfway into the year with a strong run home. Lot of cash in the bank to buy up.

It could cost me a lot in trades and the rookies flop. I would lose a few games due to low scores.

Anyone see the risk vs return and willing to take the punt  ???

yes but not 5 on field. u will get too many 0's, i'm going with Bartel, Ball and 4 on fielders. But it's definitely the go this year, there is sooooo much money to be made in the rookie midfielders... IMO
