What are peoples thought on H-Mac, will he be Geelong's number 1 ruckman or is he even in their best 22. Is it worth waiting to see if he plays and how he goes in the NAB challenge?

Was talking with Travis Varcoe just after xmas and he said that the team was very disappointed that he couldn't get on the park in 2013 and they were extremely excited about having him available in 2014, from the conversation it was obvious he is a serious part of their best 22.

may just be worth the punt starting both him and Sandi as ruckman
and then hope to all heck that they don't go down injured in the first 5 rounds (so you can get a cash generation for an upgrade to a premo)

best case: 2 "premo" ruckman for 600k
worst case: They go down early and you burn a couple of trades (given the lack of scoring potential around their price point)

I'm probably gonna start with a premo ruckman thinking of either Big Wil Minson or Big Boy Mcevoy

the last time he played first 10 games or so with north in 2012 was it, he did really well, smashed out some good scores and was very consistent....

All depends of NAB performance, but you'd think if fit and firing he'd be #1 ruck.

Geelong wouldn't have recruited him as a reserves back up.

Totally agree no way would have Geelong gone after him to be a backup ruck!
He does score well and at that price is too good a value

That was a couple of years ago though. Simpson is a very good ruckman now

Yeh, just say this. Makes it interesting now. Might get the odd rest which wouldn't be a drama if u have cover but the red vest now makes me worries with him.

I'd still go with HMac and Gaz. Obviously in AF it's not as risky with the trades and hopefully he makes a bit of cash to be sideways to a premo ruck by the time he needs a "rest". Just the red vest worries me.
