We all know Bellchambers will missing the start of the season, which means Ryder will be the sole ruckman at Essendon with Daniher and maybe Thurlow helping him out if necessary.
Last year Ryder played 5 games without Belly and returned scores of 108, 111, 73 (vs Cox and Nic Nat), 90 and an injured 61. This is an average of 88.
In 2012 Ryder played 6 games without Belly and returned scores of 128, 112, 95, 102, 104, 80. This is an average of 103.
In 2011 Ryder played 8 games without Belly and returned scores of 103, 85, 103, 81, 65, 65, 116, 125. This is an average of 92.
Over the past 3 years when Ryder has been the sole ruck he has returned 12 90+ scores from 19 games including 10 100+ scores.
Is anyone considering him? Personally I think he is still too expensive despite these scores but he could be a quite stepping stone to say Minson after a few rounds.

Artax

Too pricey but I still think he is a great pick

Jroo

Without Belly, I think Ryder would be a good choice.

Mr.Craig

I've been trying to pump him up. You could do a lot worse.

Memphistopheles

Definite yes for SC for me as the sole ruck but think there is better value in AFL Fantasy.

On the watchlist though for sure.

Ricochet

Have to agree with Memph. In AF we can take the risks of Sandi/HMac etc, so I think you can probably make more money here than with Ryder. I was getting excited about him when Belly first went down and he should still definitely be on your watch list but it depends how long Belly is out for really

Thanks all,

I will see how he looks pre-season I guess, Grundy would allow me to strengthen another line if he goes alight pre-season too.
