Are there any players in the backline putting there hands up for a breakout this season? Obviously Swallow, Vlastuin and Atley are the prime candidates but are there any others you are looking at? Clisby has a bit of potential I think and then there's Docherty; anyone else you are considering?

Jroo

My pick would've been Seedsman but he's out injured.
D.Swallow I think will break out.
Hansen is another to watch.

Ricochet

Watch out for Golby. He's on the verge of a breakout year.
Hansen and DSwallow are my other two

this

Memphistopheles

Marley Williams.

Actually I have a list somewhere of guys I reckon could improve their average by 10 points or more in 2014 and there's 18 names on it.

Not necessarily that many great fantasy picks though.

T Dog

I will be watching Buntine and Brodie Martin

ScreechRoo

Rory Laird is another to watch for the Crows, pushes fwd a bit and is as hard as nails for a small bloke

Sweetness

Brodie Smith with some extra midfield time.

Toga

Swallow, Golby and Brodie Smith are the guys I'm watching but doubtful I'll start any :P

starz

How about a massive smokey in cam o'shea

Toga

I like him Starz, could really go bang this year

yeh im sorting looking for that micheal hibberd type player that doesnt actually run through the middle to increase their average from the backs. Spewing after last season i had hibberd locked. But then at the last minute i decided having three bombers was too much in the backline (goddard and heppell as well) so this year i'm trying to find that person. Although i feel as though those people that break out in the backs wil most likely be those who run through the mids.
the prime candidates at the moment are:
david swallow- i think just about everyone will have him come seasons end if he is pushed into the mids which im sure he will be. he was number one for a reason and not only number one but he was the next big thing when recruited and this year he will show why imo.

jack watts- this one will take a lot of guts to do. but he has been touted as a midfielder. now at first my thoughts were that he would probably play a wing and wouldnt get enough of it be a good enough pick up, and he doesnt tackle that well either. althoiugh i read recently that he has been trainly only with the mdifeild group as well as specifically with daniel cross who can hopefully can teach him how to tackle. He will be a pre season watch as if he is spending big minutes in the centre square rather than on a wing i reckon he has a bit of potential.

brodie smith- my worry with smith is similar to that of watts. He will probably move to the mids but it will probably be on a wing. yeh he might have the occaisonal awesome game and probably will average around 80 but he doesnt tackle enough imo. i rmemeber i ithink it was the last game of last year maybe and he got an absolute stack of the ball but only ended up with a 90 as he didnt tackle enough. could still be a good pick and could do something to what henderson was doing last year perhaps.

other smokeys:
jarryn geary- had a really good finish to last year but im looking at only playing him in round one against melbourne most likely.

all in all im going to be watching o'shea very closely over the pre season to see what kind of role he gets as he does have the potential to average 85+ maybe. Although i ussually only go for those playing the real on ball roles because hibberd burnt me last year it has changed my mind a bit.

popedelio

I have 2 smokies from the west coast department in Sheppard and Yeo.

Sheppard is a midfielder though
